i have a x5 4.8is all in all the vehicle has been good and really really enjoyable to drive, but has been dogged by some tire issues, i have 2 sets of tires, 1 for summer and 1 for winter which i change out when the snow comes.....

my issues have been :-

- the stock summer rear tires wear out in the center and have full tread on the outside when i use the bmw tire pressure. i brought this to the attention of the local bmw dealer and the dealer eventually 'sort of' came to the table on the replacements with $$, but it was a big deal for them (not what i expected for a C$ 100k purchase). on the second set of tires i noticed they had started to dish so i contacted the dealer, they then advised me to drop the pressures by 2 -3 psi, but the tires have still dished.

has anyone else had this issue ?? (i asked the dealer and they said this is the 1st time they ever heard or seen this) what can i do ????.

- the summer front tires have worn to the canvas and nearly wire on the inside edge...... the vehicle is at the dealer and the new tires are C$ 1,100.

has anyone else seen this ?

the dealer assures me i am 'the only 1'.....

no, I've seen it. Sorry, but it's just the way they wear on a BMW. An alignment may help, but no guarantees. These 9 and 10 inch wide rear tires always wear down the centers. 7 series with the 19's are the same way.

front tires wear on the shoulders, rear tires wear down the center. and if they're diff sizes, you can't rotate them.
