hey guys hows it going. i was browsing some forum the other day when i stumbled across this post.
this guy has a 1996 dodge neon stock. and he claims he can take a 95 mb c280..these r his words..
"
ya its a neon stock, no modifications http://mahjoob.com/en/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif , 200 000 kilometers on it,
frankly, dodge says it does 0-60 in 8.8 s, my best time was 9.5 , but that was before we replaced the clutch, so i think i can shave half a sec from that time, about the 1/4 mile it doesnt do good now since it needs a timing belt to be replaced, but it will do quite good,
look x-5junkie, i will tell u why i will win http://mahjoob.com/en/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif i did my HW
ur car has a 2.8 liter engine 190 hp, with peak torque at 4000 rpm (207 lb)
its a 5 speed manual, and weighs 1418 + 75(driver) + 50 (tank) = 1543 kg
its claimed that it does 0-60 in 7 sec, u have power/weight ratio = 0.123
mine, is a 2.0 litre, 132 hp, and peak torque 130 at 5000 rpm, bad, i know http://mahjoob.com/en/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif but, it weighs 1122 + 80(driver) + 8(tank ;) ) = 1211 when we will race, i will take the back seat with the passenger seat with the spare and the junk in the back including the speakers, so it 50 kg lighter, and i will take the air filter out and the intake hose, and i will use the jordanian 95 octan fuel mixed with a substance that will make it 99 octane, i will reprogram the ICU (advance spark) for this race only, all of this will add 25 hp and 30 lb torque, so, my power/weight ratio = 0.135, i will fit my friends 205 tyres instead of our 195, and i will use a special technique that will give me best traction at take off , anyways, it will win http://mahjoob.com/en/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif dont u think ?"
end.
what do yall think.
