ok so i have a 2002 330i and the leather on the drivers seat is starting to wear. So my question is how much would it cost to replace the leather from BMW and how much it would cost from somewear else, and finally if i can get the side bolsters put in or would i have to get new seats. Thanks in advance

You might be able to purchase BMW leather from LeatherZ (www.leatherz.com). The problem is you're talking about a small area, and most places only sell leather by the hide ($200-$300).

Once you had the leather, the best fix would be to remove the entire panel (the section covering the bolster) and replace it with new. Figure another couple hundred for that.

Fortunately, I doubt such measures are necessary. If you're only seeing wear on the bolster, it is likely that you just need that section conditioned and re-dyed - which is only about $100-$150 at most shops. The area would have to be worn through or severely damaged to warrant replacement, but most people think the dye wearing off means the leather itself is worn.

Look under "interior repairs" or something like that. A lot of the guys that so that sort of work are mobile, too, so they can come right to your house or work.

Go to www.leatherique.com - they sell dyes to re-color your seats. Doing a thorough job is a time-consuming process, though it's not that expensive.

Doing a two-tone interior has been done (see www.e46fanatics.com for lots of examples), but it's pricey - best way to do it is two batches of leather.
