View Full Version : My Honda Civic -vs- X5
ukthunderace 04-03-2007, 02:30 PM Okay, this was pretty funny.
I was on the way home today and getting off the autobahn and there was an X5 in front of me (I have no idea what year etc). The turn off is basically a 400 meter straight two lanes, a 90 degree right curve, another 400 meters, a 90 degree left curve and a stop light in 200 meters. It is two lane the entire way.
So the guy starts speeding up down the off road and I thought, what the heck. I have no mods, other than an FM xmitter for my iPod and some powerade bottles on the floor. So takes the right lane and I take the left. I outbraked him by a little bit (helped me make up for the lack of speed in my big 1.4 litre) and then took him by well over a car length on the outside through the right.
He evened things out on the next 400 meters but I outbraked him again for the left hander and took the curve really well. The light was green, so I carried on through. It was kinda funny...I think he was pissed.
Anyway, what really surpreised me was that he could make it through those curves that fast anyway. I have raced a guy through those and he was in a Murcielago...he wasn't too much faster (though I suspect he is just not a good driver). Anyway, it is amazing the X5 handles the way it does.
cheers,
Greg

yes... i can imagine the laughs you must have had. you should have filmed it, put it on youtube.com... i'm sure it would have gotten thousands of views, each telling you how hilarious it is :)
who would have thunk it, a big SUV not holding a corner better than a light weight civic?

Wow, you know all the Honda engine displacements by heart! :lol

Have you raced a Murcielago in your 1.4 civic:eyecrazy?
While driving a Murciealgo you don't need to be a good driver you just need to hit the freaking pedal. So if the car is not fast it means he is not racing(100% chance).

It is a British spec from 2000. It is an SE model..so named because it has air conditioning I think...that is a novel thing it the UK, well, in 2000 anyway.

LOL! It definitely wasn't the car...it was the driver. He had rented it and was not a very good driver...he isn't very good with his normal car either :) Oh yes, the straights he had no problem...what a great car, but on the curves, he lost his courage.
I would love to drive a Lambo. You can rent them quite a few places in Switzerland and some in Germany.

bmw318is1994 04-04-2007, 08:13 PM lmao this thread makes perfect sense its just 95% of the threads in here they are all funny. One person doesnt think it's possible and then the bashing starts then it's usually one guy that has to take all the flaming from about 20 others. I don't hardly ever post in this thread but it's worth it! lmfao you guys are funny as hell.
