The aux adapter allows you to plug an MP3 player, Sat. radio, etc into your radio to play music. It will only work BMW CD/tape radios dated 9/2002 and up. Since yours is a 2005, it will work.

You are correct, you cannot have the CD changer and the IPOD interface. Honestly, the Ipod is the way to go.

No, it works only on the E46 Business CD/tape deck from 2002 and up. It has to have the MODE button on it.
