View Full Version : SUV's getting frisky?
Loki13 04-03-2007, 06:49 AM In the past few months I've been without a vehicle (my little baby got t-boned by a early 90's dodge pickup doing 65-70mph -- and the truck was more f*cked up then my little car, haha). When I've needed one I've been forced to drive my mom's 97' Z3 2.8l (man trans). Now, I generally drive about 5-10 over, 4k is usually the rev line for me, nothin crazy. Well within the past few weeks I've had a total of about 10 SUV's race me. My absolute favorite was tonight:
While driving from the ole BK Lounge near my place I was at a red light. Well the Yukon Denali next to me had about 5 people in it (the drive/passenger were both guys). Well I start off normally, not doing anything crazy. Well next thing I know I hear this muffled roar noise as the Denali gets on it. Well being a teenage guy driving a sports car I did nothing -- would rather insurance not bend me over for any more cash. Well this guy gets ballsy and cuts in front of me and slams on brakes...made me spill my fries. So, I said fine by me. So we pull up to the next light and he's in the left lane so I hop in the right. We start off and again, nothing spectacular. And, again the muffled roar starts and I see he now needs to get over to get on an on-ramp...the inner douche bag in me gets the better of me and as he's edging ahead I give it a little more gas just to block him off. He floors it, so I downshift and maintain the block, well the highway we were both getting on has 2 ramps one after another that both use the lane I'm in, I turned into the first, he tries to make the second, realizes he's going to fast (it curls back around and goes upward at the same time...guess that slipped his attention) cuts back to the other lane and takes out two of those cylindrical road markers with his front grill and bumper...priceless...almost worth losing my fries.

You are no better then him.

True so true.

I spy a couple tiddlers in your sig. I miss my Kx 125. I was thinking of grabing up another one or a 250. I am intrigued by the modern 4 stroke dual sports like the KTMs though. Thanks for making me surf the web looking for bikes again..:buttrock
UberAuto 04-03-2007, 03:27 PM an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. with that said, he was a jerk for cutting you off (just to beat you, if he had to then get over into your lane, right?) and you only represented the topless BMW sector..
seano666 04-03-2007, 03:33 PM Darkness95m3, please post pics of your garage will all those cars in it. Or are they all in your front yard? lol
SAHAKIAN 04-03-2007, 11:13 PM You are no better then him.
I certainly hope you are kidding. Not saying what he did was right but come on:rolleyes
Loki13 04-04-2007, 04:06 AM I fail to see how I was "no better then him." I was minding my own business and he decided to be a prick. Had the fries not gotten involved maybe it would've turned out differently, but either way he took the "toying with me" too far and I just pushed back a little. Didn't break any laws, way I see it, it was karma.

When you get on in the years you will understand.
phantom3 04-04-2007, 05:58 PM they were just bk fries , now if they were mcdonalds id understand :lol
i dont know what the deal with these suv drivers lately .. if you wanted a sports car you should have gotten one (obvious excepts to the rule srt-8 etc)
nice kill :redspot
328isDriver 04-04-2007, 11:43 PM I certainly hope you are kidding. Not saying what he did was right but come on:rolleyes
X2 bro! If you cant support your fellow bimmer owners/drivers... then get out of here and go buy yourself a hummer 2 or cadi!!!
Come on:devillook
fireballbmw 04-05-2007, 02:13 AM well done though.. suv drivers think they own the road.. haha
mihalis 04-05-2007, 07:51 PM I drive about 25K miles per year. I have ever since I purchased my first car. You get to the point in your life where you learn to just stay away from stupid people like that b/c all they will do is cause an accident. He was being a total dick to you for whatever reason, but I see drivers like that on the road all the time, esp in SUV's...I really don't understand why, but whatever. Anyway, them getting one car ahead of you or thinking they are so cool will only get them so far...one day they will get theirs, don't worry about it, you have better things to worry about.
Now with that being said, if they made me spill my fries in my bimmer...I would run them off the road!!! That is why I never ate in my previous car. :)
e28 man 04-05-2007, 08:49 PM well done. I'm behind you.
to all you old men who complain and say their time will come, well it did.
He was just the instrument of their karma.
props...

I'm by no means "old" in any way, but I just believe people should not be bothered with these type of retards. Let them do their own thing, thinking they own the world, and one day, they will discover otherwise. Why put your life in danger so you can "get back" at someone? The guy was driving a Yukon vs a Z3? That's just so smart! :nono
When I was younger some guy was doing the same thing to me...Mr. Tough guy thinking that I am, I decided to just try and pass him...the guy was crazy, he had a Montero and I had a Lumina at that time...he decided he had enough of me and threw me in ongoing traffic, luckily at that second in time no one was there and there was a side street I managed to turn in to avoid a head on collision.
People are crazy, and you don't know how someone will react, therefore, play it safe and just stay the hell away from them.
phantom3 04-06-2007, 01:14 AM yeah i had an suv thinking he was "cool" on the highway ., trying to pace me at around 100mph ... then he thought hed pass me and weave in traffic.. next thing you know this explorer is rolling over in the highway with people flying out of it ... i dont understand why these jackasses drive like this .. then they try to blame the tires .. how bout blaming the driver ,,,.
Jerrysull2 04-06-2007, 07:52 AM To the OP - Well, I'm not going to say that he didn't deserve it... but beware of how you're representing the BMW community as a whole. It would have been better to just lay off and let the asshole go on his way. It's stuff like this that make all the other drivers on the road hate BMWs (I'm sure you've heard the joke about BMWs and porcupines?:rolleyes)
Tragu 04-06-2007, 08:05 AM good for you I hate pri#ks. Yesterday I was leaving my moms house in my element and was driving 20 mph and some busy body lady yells slow down so I roll down the window and she proceeds to tell me that this is a 25 mph zone so I say thanx I was going 20 I will speed up. PITA

ZoomZoom951 04-07-2007, 12:50 PM Reading this story makes me laugh... NOT THE FRIES NOOOO lol.
Bromaguire 04-07-2007, 08:59 PM well done though.. suv drivers think they own the road.. haha
So its only Suv's that drive like that? I don't think so. I have seen and been cut off by plenty of morons in sportscars too. Some people drive like they are mario andretti weather their in an Suv or a car. Reacting to someone driving like this only endagers more lifes including your own. Driving on public streets like its a race track is not acceptable when other people who don't want any part of your shenanigans are around and are put into danger because of it.
IzzataMiata 04-09-2007, 10:08 AM I would have reacted the same way some odd years ago (testosterone is pretty potent stuff).
However, experience has taught me not to trust how others might react (or how badly they might drive at speed--e.g. your buddies in the Yukon plowing over the markers).
I use shock and awe (if it's safe to do so) by blasting past to let them know I'm not a 1.8-liter Miata. I don't hang around close by, though, and certainly don't egg them on (people in Texas love guns).
