View Full Version : found a good ATL body shop...
varsity 01-30-2003, 10:16 PM I had a slight scrape in my passenger-side rear wheel fender, and got four estimates. Here they are:
- Autobahn Imports, Smyrna: $532.
- Performance Auto Collision, Alpharetta: $1120.
- Chris Collision Center, Doraville: $1559.
- Luxury Auto Body, Atlanta: $433.
I got it fixed at Luxury (404-350-0604) and they did a great job. Check them out if you need bodywork. It's not in the nicest area of town, but they do quality work.
punknamedjimmy 02-01-2003, 09:05 PM i also have a friend who has an uncle who owns a body shop, so if anyone needs anything i can have my friend talk to his uncle and see what they can do for you....
i'm not sure of hte name of the place but its in buckhead
540Rob 02-04-2003, 05:32 PM How about some after pics since that's what were really concerned with.
slvr98 M 02-04-2003, 06:15 PM I had my car done as well at Luxury Auto Body and I too was very happy with there work and there prices. Edwin is fair with his prices. They matched my front end with the rest of the car perfectlywhich is hard to do on a titanium silver color they claimed. They couldnt just pull the color code, they had to tweak it after that. Perfect.
Bavarian Autowerks is also right next door which is a BMW service shop.
I just went there(Luxury Auto Body) today and was completely blown off because I wasn't filing on insurance and wouldn't help scam my insurance company for extra money. :dunno
Are they located on Howell Mill Rd?
Wouldn't even give me a free estimate, just kept talking about how my bumper would be over $1000 or something like that($300-400 is what I have been quoted).
IMO, the place definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. The guy I dealt with was nothing but sleazy and was not concerned with helping me one bit, only to get a few extra bucks in his pocket 'on the side.'
slvr98 M 02-07-2003, 10:43 PM Who did you talk to, they have always treated me right. I really would like to follow up on that.
I don't remember his name, but he was Hispanic. Seemed like he was one of 'the guys in charge.'
IMO, committing insurance fraud over $500 is just fucking ridiculous. Everybody has a price, and I'd like to think mine is way more than a measly $500. The guy was an absolute idiot, and after telling him another quote I got at a place down the street he said, 'just go with them, I don't want to deal with it for that much.'
Just for reference, I was quoted over $4000 for a new bumper, fender and hood with painting. Doesn't sound like chump change considering labor was over $2.5k of it.
varsity 02-13-2003, 02:27 PM To 328isRob: I haven't taken "after" pics because I haven't gotten access to a digital camera yet. I'll post them once I get some photos.
To Def: They are on Howell Mill; I don't know why they wouldn't talk to you straight. I did not claim insurance, and Edwin (the owner, I think) was very fair and explained the entire refinishing process to me. But I firmly believe that if they wouldn't be fair with you, you oughta go somewhere else.
