I did it on my car, there are a few tricks I could help out with like the fan removal (you definitely should get the fan tool before you start, makes it a cinch). Also, have replacement radiator mounts and clips, since you are going to end up breaking them off.

I got mine from Bill (bimmerclinic) and it did not...I don't think...had to get it remounted at RRT because I couldn't figure it out.

good luck with it, my car has 135k and I haven't done it yet. Are you getting a waterpump with the metal impeller? Seems like a lot of german auto companies use plastic as stock.

I believe carbon impellers are the current standard for E36's.

Its simple but it's a bitch. Took me ~6 hours to do radiator, waterpump, hoses, thermostat. I'd come help but I'm working this weekend, maybe next weekend.

If you've got a Behr radiator, make sure it's the right one. They're having some packaging issues and for some reason, they make a radiator that is not interchangeable between manuals and automagics.

i would say the worst part of this is getting the fan off. ended up taking a big ass pipe wrench to the pulley and an adjustable to the nut, then cut a fence post in half to help with more leverage...not my best experience. I wish I would have taken pics of the pulley afterward LOL. Get the fan removal tool!

I managed to get my fan off w/ a long flathead and a wrench. I don't understand why everyone makes such a big deal about it. It was my first time taking it off, and I had no issues. Maybe took me 4mins. I would help you out but my car is down right now and couldn't make the drive out there. unless you wanted to do it here in baltimore.
