For a long time, I wanted an E46 M3, but im starting to get bored of them. They dont make enough NA power, and FI is extremely expensive. I am very intrigued by the big body Benzes with bi-turbo V12s putting out 500 horsepower. Their reliability, though, is horrible. I started thinking of a good alternative, then thought about the E60 M5. They are such badass cars. The price tag is steep, so I would have to save for a while. My question is, where do you think they will be in 2 or 3 years? I dont mind saving cuz i know it will be worth it in the end. I'm hoping they will drop down to about $40-45,000 for a CPO with about 45k on the clock. What do you guys think?

one will never know-I seen some selling for about 69k-72 with 11k on clock. That's a big hit considering the car fetch almost 97k out the door. I sure the smg ones will have a lower price than the 6-speed mannual. I don't think you really want one these after the warranty runs out. The technology involved in these cars will cost super money to fix in the long run. So they follow the standard m-car tradition-fun/expensive.

exactly. I noticed that theyre depreciating quicky. I'm just so tempted to wait a couple years and see where the 06's are at. An 06 with 50,000 miles and a CPO warranty would be perfect.

Especially with the SMG stuff going on. A few months ago while reading on another board regarding M5's, they still haven't fixed the SMG problems. Many people have been stranded in their brand new car. There was one guy that had the tranny lockup on him. Luckily he wasn't driving too fast otherwise he would've been in big trouble. There are also others that are on their 3rd tranny.
Of course... this was a few months ago. Hope they've fixed the problems.
