HISTORY:
When I bought #19 there was a Momo Champion steering wheel installed and the dealer did not have the OE wheel. For a short time I was under the impression that my M3 came with the standard 4-spoke airbag wheel. However, I was surprised to find out (and this was confirmed by the VIN) that my M3 came from the factory WITHOUT any airbags. AFAIK, it's the only one of the 45 euro 3.0L's that was officially imported by BMW Canada with no airbags.
The wheel was MIA for a few years until I ran into the previous owner. He sold it to me and it's been sitting in "my closet" (inside joke :stickoutt) ever since.
Anyways, I have 2 options: 1) I can have it recovered by American Stitches; or 2) Just sell it "as-is" and let the new owner decide what to do with it (Leatherique dye, new leather cover, stitching color, padding, etc).
This has a 365 mm diameter, smaller than the ubiquitous 4-spoke airbag version. The wheel is in good overall condition. There's no friction related wear or cuts in the leather but the dye has worn off in some areas, mainly in the 10-2 o'clock area. It's obvious someone tried to refresh the wheel the "easy way" but it's clearly not adequate. The solution is a dye kit such as Leatherique or having someone such as American Stitches recover it.
SOLD!
