Hi everyone. Been lurking for a while and finally joined. Great forum!

I am looking for an e30 325i/is for a track/autocross/weekend car. Ideally, something in the $2,500-$3,500 price range, with manual transmission, mechanicals in good shape (with service records/receipts), under 150,000k, body in good/very good shape (no major rust), and located within driving distance of the Milwaukee/Chicago area. If you have something that fits or comes close and are looking to sell, let me know. Thanks!

You have any sort of time frame for buying one?

Thanks for the question! I have the cash in hand and am looking for the right car. Time frame is however long it takes to find the right car.

I have a turbo 87is.. it has some quirks that you wouldnt want as a daily driver, but as an auto-x car it would be great.

Im looking for 4k firm. Its got 207k on the clock but the head was rebuilt 25k ago, turbo has been on it for the past 20. Has a driver side corbeau forza 2 installed and a passanger side corbeau also that hasnt been installed yet. I dont have another bracket for it. RPM guage doesnt illiuminate at night, just the speedo. Fogs dont work. Brake sensor on right rear isnt plugged in. Door locks are finiky.

Problems asthetically...

Bumper is broken, needs a swap to plastic or a lower IS bumper from a junkyard or something.

Picture doesnt show the bumper problem... i slid into a snow bank on an icey hill this winter, bumper broke, everything else is fine.

Bavarian Autosport Short Shifter with new shifter
bushing parts and vinyl shift boot replaced with
leather one.
Car also now has a 2.5" straight pipe with a turbo
muffler. The car sounds slightly more aggreassive than
stock but a new muffler could easily be welded in.

Problems with the car:
This is kinda a long list, alot of things bothered me
with this car... little things.

Bumper is broken (my fault) I was driving down a hill
covered in ice on my way home and slid into a
snowbank. Nothing is damaged beyond the bumper.

Foglights dont work... Passanger side worked and then
after a month or so stopped working. I never tried to
trouble shoot the problem.

Driver side interior door handle is broken. I can
order a new one from concours and include it with the
sale.

RPM gauge doesnt illuminate... only Speedo.

Brake lining warning light is on as well as check
light, not check engine light. I traced the problem to
the break lining light to the right rear sensor not
plugged in. But i dont pay attention to the sensor
anyway so i just taped it up to the chassis.

Power steering has been deleted... Doesnt matter
though i kinda like it, the basketweeves are super
light and the steering is responsive.

Window washer fluid pump and wires/reservoir has been
deleted.

Passenger side door lock doesn't work... Trunk lock
cannot be manipulated manually. The only way it locks
is with the Driver door lock which takes a few tries
to unlock. Ever since an ice storm its been acting up.
(I wish the door locks were mechanical and not
electrical)

Alpine head unit that was in the car was stolen. Car
has speakers but id like to take them out if sold.
THey were around 700 dollars and id prolly put them in
my next car. All the wiring is there though. I also
built a custom rear speaker tray since the one in
there was gone.

I wired up a Boost gauge with a mounting flange but
the people that stole my stereo broke it off. It would
have to be rescrewed up.

I dont have an extra mounting bracket for the other
courbeau seat. The driver side is mounted but if you
wanted to mount the passanger side youd have to buy
the bracket. Its 80 dollars. But i have the leather
sport if youd rather have that.

Rear buckets don't have seatbelt receivers for some
reason. i never drive people around though so i didnt
worry about it. Also the driver seat doesnt have a
seat belt reciever either. I was gonna grab the one
from the sport seat and hook it up on the corbeau
mounting braket but never got around to it cuz i was
gonna replace it.

Rear quarter windows and rear window is tinted... Not
the best job but not the worst. I left it alone.

reading lamps on rear view mirror dont work.. never
tried to trouble shoot the problem.. i "installed" a
secondary dome lamp though.

All the hood linkage has been deleted too. The hood is
just locked on with hood pins. You have to manually
remove it.

Other than that theres nothing wrong with the car. As
you can see most of the problems are little things.
But they bugged the hell outta me and i never had time
to get at them. Im trying to start up a business as
well as going to college full time and going to the
army guard on weekends. If i had more time id prolly
keep the car and fix it up. But id rather just sell
for something without little problems.

Anyway, the Engine and drivetrain is superb. I never
had any start problems with the car and I started it
up frequently over the winter, even in the zero degree
weather we were having.

Oh one more problem. The heater on the car doesnt
work. I took the car to little car shop they said it
needed a new heater valve. But they ordered it and it
took forever to get in stock so i basically told them
to screw off. So that still isnt fixed. A/C has been
deleted.

I switched oil over to Penzoil synthetic when i got
the car.

Its a fun car to drive like i said motor and driveline
is solid, so is the suspension and brakes. But it
needs little things here and there. Turbo starts
pulling hard around 4k rpm. The guy i bought it from
said he dynoed it at 225hp... i belive it, it feels
about right. I used to have a s50 swapped 318ti and it
felt just as fast as that. Although i havent got on it
too much since i had winter tires on it all season.
Also... i though about it. I got the car with 202k
miles on it. I put on 5k since last november.

Thanks for the detail and pics! The car sounds like a fun ride, but I am looking more for NA than turbo/supercharged.
