View Full Version : Got Boost?
agu845 04-01-2007, 09:56 AM Just curious how many/what types of FI'd convertible M3's out there.
Mine features a Eurosport twin-screw SC. Others?

Jimmie Jazz 04-02-2007, 12:08 PM That's an awesome setup. Did you buy it with the SC already installed or have the work done/by yourself?

Gimme Gimme!
agu845 04-02-2007, 03:03 PM Thanks.
I bought the car explicitly to then add the SC (I had it installed for me). She FLIES - faster than my RS6. You should see the look on E46 M3 drivers' face when a lowly, heavy E36 M3 takes them (she looks bone stock other than the AA gen 3 exhaust). Also a 997 C4S vert, but who'se keeping score :)

patrickrolfsen 04-04-2007, 02:27 PM Forget German Pride 10- I've got a nice vert with vaders and a crunched up nose panel... i know you'd much rather trade me instead...:stickoutt
Just Kidding. I would have to strangle you if you ever did anything like that.:rolleyes

agu845 04-05-2007, 10:03 AM SWEET Ride Greg! Love those wheels (18's?) and BBK. Tell me, does she ride hard on those? Stock suspension? Also tell me about the BBK
Also, that engine bay looks marvelous! Ever dyno her? I'm planning on dynoing this Spring sometime. Art

Thank you agu845.
The suspension is a a coil over kit made for the FI crowd by Ground Control. The car rides real nice not bad for a 450/550 ish lb spring rate setup. The BBK was a pain to get right, I had to buy a new set of wheels that were BBK friendly. Money that wasnt figured in until I was ready to mount the rim, ooops. I had to do some measuring and some small wheel spacers to even make them fit with the AR1's. The Stoptech's were one of the best ideas I had since the supercharger.
On the dyno last time before the snow hit the ground I was 400rwhp and 312rwtq on a modified RMS tune by Karl at AA to make it safe.:) Karl is a great guy btw.....:D
I am happy with the tune right now I really dont want to push the issue and blow it up again, Im content with 400hp.
The nice thing about the vert is you can drop the top and have some fun.
Im sure you feel the same.:evil2
millertimebmw03 04-05-2007, 10:19 PM WHERE IN NH???? I'd love to see the car sometime :D

North Manchester
I have seen your car on the way home from work, you were on 93north
around 5pm near exit 2. I was in My Jeep and I couldnt miss the bright red E36 vert with the top down, I was like sweet!:buttrock Verts are the best!
millertimebmw03 04-05-2007, 11:23 PM ha ha, thats so funny, Im so jealous of your car and I'm the one whos noticeable !!!! FTW :D
After this snows gone then I'll feel alot better! haha
fun2drive 04-06-2007, 11:37 AM I currently have an ERT SC with RMS like aftercooler and Genie headers (325iC 95 model) that I am selling because I have the 335 vert on its way to the USA on a boat.
I clearly like cars that have either a SC or a turbo. My truck is a Super Duty that makes 24" of boost under full power too.
I really like the twin screw set up that you have as well.

I agree, that's PLENTY of power!!!! Also agreeed on the topless action. It's wonderful when the weather allows. I'll give up some chassis rigidity and add some lbs for that fresh air experience. Thanks for the info on BBK and suspension. I'm afraid of doing bigger wheels and/or suspension drop due to the really harsh roads around here (Minnesota), so for now, i will remain stock. I really would like the BBK, though. With the added power/speed, bigger brakes are sure nice. Glad you got it working well for you
fun2drive: I love FI (my other car is turbocharged as well), and in a heavier vert, it's nearly essential. Well, maybe not essential, but highly desirtable. You are going to LOVE that 335. Have fun:D

Thats a sweet setup. If I was to do it again I'd go twinscrew. That's clean.
I'm running an S52 OBD1 with a Vortech V2 at 6lbs. Last dyno was 323whp. Building a stage two as we speak. I have my Snow Performance methanol injection and smaller pulley.(10lbs) New injectors and waiting on a custom RMS aftercooler. Shooting for 400+ whp.
agu845 04-06-2007, 02:05 PM Thanks, i like the TS. But you should know it's only good for about 360 rwhp..... OTOH, their tq curve is more like a flat shelf than a 'curve,' and for my needs, this was an important thing, so I can live with 10% less peak HP for the linear behavior of the TS, and at a manageable 8lbs psi.
BTW, your car looks HOT! Mine looks so stock-boring that NOBODY expects it to do anything. It's fun watching some of the expressions (most recently from a 997 C4S driver).

Thanks!...I like the TS because its a tq monster. Your right, no-one expects an e36 vert to give them a good run or better a beat down. The look is priceless...:eek2 I have a long list of jaw dropping looks. When my aftercooler and new tune arrive I plan to add to that list.:cool
agu845 04-15-2007, 12:36 PM more boosted verts out there?
