Well I am the VERY happy of a new 07 530i with the sport package and absolutely love this car. For any lack of power it has in general, the handling of this thing is ridiculous-and makes the power you do have seem like plenty if you are into fast cornering and agile driving. I was just wondering what the base 530 without the sport package is like at cornering/handling?
This thing corners so flat it is unbelievable. Also much more fun with the steptronic.
So anyway anyone who does not have the sport can comment on cornering/agility/handling? This has impressed me beyond belief.
And the 20-way seats are probably the bestin the market of any car.

Hey...I just purchased my 530i last week...I did not get the sport package and honestly I feel that it makes a difference. My car has the semi boat feel to it and feels top heavy. I am getting into this car after 3 years of being in a VR6 GTI-Rocket on rails.
I opted out of the sport package because I figured aftermarket components would be better in the end. H&R coilovers and sway bars should take my 5 where I tell it go. The ARS system might not be able to be replicated...but I wonder how much it adds to the overall feel and handling of the car.
Just my two pennies...

I recently purchased a 07 530 without the sport package for my wife as her daily driver. I drive a 330 ZHP and the ride was too stiff for her so we decided not to get the sport on the 530. I would say that it makes a difference I find the car a little loose and floaty and it takes some getting used to at first. If you like a very tight and precise ride the sport is the way to go.

The sport package is the way to go. The best way to describe it is "level."
With the sport package your car will corner as if it is on rails.
Active steering is another great option.

My 525i doesn't have the Sport Package, however the handling is just great without it. I'll probably pick up a 550i with everything in a few years.
