View Full Version : 328is vs minivan
Russ[] 03-30-2007, 06:48 PM So I'm sitting at a red light today, and this old lady next to me gets my attention, and asks..
"Does you car have a spare tire"
I of course respond with the truth. Then she says...
"Maybe that's because a BMW isn't a sports car"
Then I ask, "Well then ma`am, what the eff do you call a sports car"
"a corvette"
I tell her that corvettes have spares, and that anyone who owns a corvette has a small penis (which got her husbands attention)
So then the light turns green and we start rolling. I start paying attention to the road 3.5k, put the clutch in to shift, my revs fall, and all I hear is that minivan churning away. I decide to leave my car in first gear, ride the clutch untill he's even with me and dump it from about 4.5, chirped pulled like 4 car lengths 2nd gear shift, chirped it too, then from the 2nd gear shift to the speed limit 45 mph,
another 4 car lengths.
She gave me thumbs up at the next light before her left turn lol.
Bimmer325 03-30-2007, 06:58 PM Thats quite an interesting story, I must say.
frost12850 03-30-2007, 07:02 PM hahahahahahaha yes definitely quite interesting....
ohnoes 03-30-2007, 07:19 PM Wow, an old lady races you then gives you a thumbs up? What a cool curmudgeony b***h.
Russ[] 03-30-2007, 07:28 PM Well her husband was actually driving, which makes it even better, I belive he's an old man I've tried to get to use his 50 thousand dollar car.
angel318ti 03-30-2007, 07:34 PM you showed that old couple in a minivan!
Souvrain 03-30-2007, 08:10 PM nice
boone.msi 03-30-2007, 08:27 PM I would have laughed when she said corvette, what a fucking idiot. I bet she believes everything the tv tells her.
ImportFanatic 03-30-2007, 08:42 PM My friend with his lil ole 15k camaro used to dog out older guys in vettes and of course alot of mustang owners who swear up and down they have the most elite vehicle in the world..
But all in all this thread feels like it might turn into a corvette bashing event.
Balactus 03-30-2007, 08:45 PM What's wrong with the people in San Antonio. LOL
SAHAKIAN 03-30-2007, 09:01 PM I would have laughed when she said corvette, what a fucking idiot. I bet she believes everything the tv tells her.
Obviously the couple was just messing around, nice to see some old people with some humor in them.
But really an odd story:confused
As for Corvette bashing, I don't get/see/understand/comprehend/know why anyone would.
Russ[] 03-30-2007, 09:15 PM Yah it is really nice to see old people messing around with younger people. I imagine that old man talks up about his corvette to his wife like it's the best car ever made, just like I do to my wife about my car.
But no reason to bash on an old man with a corvette, it was probably most of their dream cars from when they were my age.
phantom3 03-30-2007, 09:17 PM sounds like what a ricer would do ... and im doubting the 8 cl's to 45 .. WAS
it even racing.... :lol :lol
Russ[] 03-30-2007, 09:34 PM I heard that little 4 banger trying pretty hard, but I do tend to exaggerate alot.
E36DJ 03-30-2007, 10:26 PM Haha that's awesome - you get all kinds of people driving minivans - the best are the kids that are learning in their parents car and start to drive around everywhere like they've got a racecar.
My friend and I raced a volunteer ambulance in Phoenix a few years back (like a nice / new one) oh man, they were giving us racing gestures and everything. Those guys were awesome.
I had to pinch myself afterwards to make sure I wasn't dreaming - this seems like the same deal, some weird stuff can happen out there haha.
Russ[] 03-30-2007, 10:43 PM Yah, this lady I work with is 45, and she has a firebird, her husband has a mazdaspeed mx-5, she comes into work laughing about how a (civic, eclipse, etc, etc) picked a race with her and she won.
Schnell325 03-31-2007, 12:42 AM Is that what I have to expect when I go to San A. next month?? Hahaha. I certainly hope she was joking! If not, nice response!
332ti 03-31-2007, 04:53 AM Do NOT! under estimate a minivan.

12 seconds 1/4 mile! @ 105mph

LOL too funny...
OP, good story, sounds like you guys had a good laugh :)
boone.msi 03-31-2007, 11:26 AM WOOOAAAHH WATCH OUT.... a v6 auto firebird :confused:shifty
Russ[] 03-31-2007, 12:31 PM Well I wasn't in sa town when this happend, I'm staying at my mothers in rockport right now. If you don't know, lots of rich and middle class old white people retire down here. Then during the winter old people from minisota come down here. They're called "Winter Texans", and they do 25 in our 40's. When I'm bored I try to go do the speed limit through town and I feel like I'm in a high speed pursuit trying to get through traffic because everyone drives so damn slow.
332ti 03-31-2007, 06:13 PM WOOOAAAHH WATCH OUT.... a v6 auto firebird :confused:shifty
who gives a shit about the firebird, when is the last time you seen a minivan do 12s?
Rez90 03-31-2007, 06:46 PM you showed that old couple in a minivan!

LMAO.....husband must of owned a corvette sometime in his life or still has one.
boone.msi 03-31-2007, 07:20 PM i say he had a corvette and a small penis, thats what caught his attention...
bmxludwig 04-01-2007, 03:42 PM Corvettes are nice cars cmon now. Can't hate on the LS7 Z06 now can ya? And btw the mini van in the video up there is a turbo dodge lol. 2.2 or 2.5 liters of boost madness. I think the one in the video is running round 25 or 30 psi. There probably isn't anything cooler than a mini van, with wood, that runs 12's.
LOW FIVE 04-01-2007, 03:52 PM Funny story. Just remember for future reference that Corvette from 1997 through 2007 DON'T HAVE SPARE TIRES. They use run flat tires.
bmxludwig 04-01-2007, 03:58 PM LOL, that is a nice piece of trivia, but they have had spare tires since ohhhhh 1956?
