I recently installed a new intake in my 2003 330CI. I have some issues with the tubing connected to the sensor section of the original intake but that was resolved with a new elbow piece for the intake. Now the "Check engine" light comes on for a period of time and goes off. This never happened with the factory intake. I was wondering if the sensor that is connected to the main housing of the intake is either faulty or there is an issue with the intake that I installed.

Does anyone know what the issue is?

Get your codes scanned...only way to know what is up.

My guess: You may have a vacuum leak, or something else that is causing an intermittent lean condition.

How does it drive? Any stuttering or surging as you rev up under load?

The car drives fine. I just hate seeing that check engine light come on.

I recently brought my car in the shop because my factory battery died and had to get it replaced. Just my luck, when I go to the delaership, the light goes off and works fine for the whole time they had the car. I got the car back and the light goes is off for the whole weekend. Today I get in the car and the light is back on.

did you install the intake? If you did, why did you take your car to the shop to get a battery?

It seems like an intermittent vacuum leak.

Does it do it when the car is cold? hot? specific times of day? specific times during driving?

I dunno...imho, it sounds like you have a crazy electrical bug or two...might not even be related to the intake.

Did you ever get the codes read?
