Any mechanics, or DIY's, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

1) How do I get the old outer bearing shell out of the trailing arm?
2) Can I press in the new bearing into the new hub with my flange?
3) The old bearing gets punched out towards the wheel right? Away from the car?
4) Does the bearing get pressed into the hub first, then into the trailing arm? Or press in the bearing into the trailing arm first, then into the hub?

Here are some pics of the problem.

Pics 1-6 show:

-everything is out, just cant get the outer part of the bearing out

-Close up. Screwdriver points at the outer shell of the bearing.

-I have a slide hammer, and a flange for the hub. Almost everything except for a bearing press

-the inner part of the bearing, they popped out with the snap ring

-the new bearing, held back by the old stuck bearing shell

Thank you. Please help me get my car off ramps

1) I have never had both inner races come out like that. Usually when you remove the hub (with a slide hammer) only the outside inner race comes off. Then you use a special tool to remove the bearing by pressing on the inside inner race. Hopefully that all makes since.
2)If you refering to the hub as the flange then no you cannot do that. Well I won't say can't but you shouldn't.
3) Yes
4)Trailing arm first.

The inner bearing has come out but u can just put it back in and then get a socket to sit on the inner bearing and hammer the bearing out. Its what we did b4 we got the proper tool

Thanks guys, I finished my passenger side and am currently working on my drivers side rear wheel bearing. But...

-my drive axle is alot harder to get out (compared to my passenger one). I've been hammering at it w/ a peice of steel for hours but it only budged a half inch.

-is there an easier way to pound out the drive axle out of the flange? Using a bearing puller in reverse maybe? I have a slide hammer, but no bearing press (the 3 big bolts, screw in type). I only have the bearing puller claws you attatch to the slide hammer?

-Is it hard to pound out cuz I already disconnected my rear shock from the trailing arm? Does that even matter?

Help, I have no idea how I finished one side and am having new seemingly simple problems on the other :help

They do corrode in there, as long as u have the inner end of the driveshaft hanging down then the shaft should eventually come out.Spray some lube down there. Make sure u give the end of the shaft and inside of the hub flange a good clean when re-installing and dont forget the copper slip so it doesn't do it next time

the bearing might have cocked to one side. If this is the case you are digging into the steel around the bearing and not only making it harder to get out but you are going to have a loose fitting bearing. I'd push it back in slightly with a socket that is just smaller than the bearing shell itself and make sure that you haven't scored the material around the bearing and then apply lots of lube.
