Alright. Todd says its not an option to put a fire decal on my car, but I've been looking at some other options:

1. Thin Blue Line stickers on Ebay. These sticker apparently represent the "thin blue line" or police force which supposedly keeps this country from falling into chaos. These are not to intrusive but I wonder how many officers would recognize this symbol.

2. 100 club decal. This is a local charity that accepts donations for injured/deceased firefighters and police officers. I am not 100% sure they have decals available but I have a hunch they will send you one or two with a donation.

3. Ebay has Fraternal order of Police "Associate Member" license plate frames. I believe you have to be a cop to be a member of this association but I bet I could get away with having one on my car if I said I knew a cop.

4. Ebay also has "National Police Organization Decals."

5. Once again, Ebay has "Federal Law Enforcement Training Center" decals. If I got pulled over here I could claim I want to join the force when I am 21.

What do you think is most recognizable? The main reason I am putting this sticker on my car is to have a better chance at getting out of my next ticket. Which decal is best for my scenario?

Your kidding right? I'll paint a blue line on your plate for $5.00!

This is a hoax. It was beat to death on the e46fanatics board.

You could just buy a police car and just run the lights the whole time. I think that would keep you form being pulld over.:alright

I guess you weren't informed of Eric's last citation. :biglaughb When he was pulled over for going UNDER the speed limit on the Tucson meet.

"This is a hoax. It was beat to death on the e46fanatics board."

What's a hoax? Believing this may stop me from getting a ticket? Your probably right, but at this point I'm willing to try anything.

"How about you don't go under the speed limit and obey the laws?"

LOL. Even if I followed the laws to spec I'm sure I still would have problems. Besides I refuse to follow the traffic laws word for word because they are ridiculous. I'm not some maniac who blows through school zones doing 80, but I do know when it is safe to exceed the speed limit.

Just today I got stuck in traffic on I10 in the middle of the day. Why? A cop was up ahead doing the speed limit and no one wanted to pass him. That's proof that if everyone followed the speed limit we would have congestion all damn day.

That drives me nuts!!! and you know that the cop is just laughing his balls off on how no one will pass him even if he goes UNDER the speed limit!!

I always pass them! :alright

My parents gave me a book entitled Speeder's Guide to Avoiding Tickets for christmas:D, I will let you borrow it if you want. It pretty much outlines everything possible to help dissuade the officer from citing you, but it is pretty common sense stuff that you should already do, the trick is to just do it when the time comes.

In general, I think people who claim to have gotten out of tickets because of some sticker they slapped on their car or some BS "deputy" badge they got by donating money are either lying or there was some other circumstance at the stop that allowed them to get out of it. The exceptions being people who are actually policeman/firefighters/military/civil servicemen. In those cases, it will depend heavily on the individuals behavior.

Think about it, if you were a cop and you pulled over some kid in a BMW, would you really care if he had a FOP or other sticker on his car? No. (I wouldn't anyways) What would sway your opinion is the manner in which that kid presented himself. Don't be condescending or a dick, and don't admit to anything in case you do get a ticket.

Or, only break the law in states that don't communicate with AZ DMV, that way it's just a tax and not a penalty.:devillook

I agree with rgrmorris. If you don't want a ticket, don't break the law.

When I was living in Jersey I was fortunate enough to know some very influential people. I have a leather wallet with a brass badge that basically says to police "I am a great person". However, I never used it in NJ and I would never even think about using it here in AZ.

Cops don't want to be reminded that you support the police. It is not like you are doing them a favor. The entire purpose of donating to those charities is in fact to do a charitable deed. It is not to get a "get out of jail free" card.

If you want to donate money to get some sort of documentation, that is fine. But remember, most of those charities that call and say they are supporting the police are actually paid fund raisers. That means that they are taking a cut right off the top before it even gets to the police.

I'm sorry, but I think that buying one of these things off of Ebay is the dumbest idea I have ever heard.

Sorry for the attitude in this post. I just think that people should take some accountability for their actions instead of always trying to get out of things.

I have absolutely no interest in giving the cops more money. I'm not supporting them period until they stop harassing me.

"Sorry for the attitude in this post. I just think that people should take some accountability for their actions instead of always trying to get out of things."

I have no problem with taking responsibility for my actions. However, I do have a problem with the city cheating me. The traffic enforcement system is designed to bring in extra revenue. It's highway robbery justified at highway safety. I am not going to accept the bullshit fines they hand out just because it is the law. I am going to do everything and anything I can do protect my rights the constitution grants me. This includes taking the 4th, playing the legal system, and yes. displaying stickers that may have an effect on the cops decision. I will not crumble under the city's pressure and accept the fact that I was speeding. That is what keeps the corrupt system functioning.

"Think about it, if you were a cop and you pulled over some kid in a BMW, would you really care if he had a FOP or other sticker on his car? "

All cops are human. Most are on powertrips. The goal here is to play on their shallowness. If a cop pulls over a kid in a BMW that kid is getting a ticket no matter how he acts. If a cop pulls over a kid in a BMW with police support decals and that kid tells the cop he wants to join the academy when he can, I honestly think the kids chances improve at getting off.

We will see. Obviously it was a mistake to ask for feedback here.

The real problem is the police themselves breaking the law and taking it out on US citizens! The police do not defend the rights of citizens, they destroy the rights!

I used to be a law abiding, police respecting person until the pigs in Round Rock, Texas showed that they don't know the difference between defensive driving/avoiding an accident, or reckless driving!

I've been driving for 28 years with no tickets and some idiot pig in a pickup truck blocked me, never showed identification called for backup and they threw me in jail for 24 hours!

Wait until the pigs take your rights away when you are following the law!

How about we start a thread in the OT Forum about Police abuse both of citizen's rights and their abuse of the laws they are suppose to protect! :alright

Ill be the first to admit ive gotten my fair share of tickets. But for every asshole cop out there, there is one that has saved someone's life by putting theirs at risk.

California - 26 years of driving 2 tickets
Arizona - 1 year of driving 2 tickets... Arizona blow's as it relates to Highway patrol writing tickets. The combination of RADAR and no other source of revenue for the local constabulary is brutal.

I've got NO beef with regular cops fighting crime. I have a problem with DipWads in BF Egypt, rolling me for "excessive speed". I've had more drivers training than most of them and am in fact much safer when I speed.

Neither of the tickets did the jackasses even give me a laugh about the license plate. No sense of humor...
