I am replacing the rear main seal and was reading a couple DIY's. Some say to removing the seal housing and the pelican parts write up says just pull the rear seal with the housing still in tact. I was able to pull the seal without removing the housing but my main concern is, does this housing tend to leak? If so should I just take it out and replace that gasket as well? If so does anyone have the torque specs for the housing bolts? Thanks!

I've never heard of the housing to leak unless there was damage, the housing to block seal I think is metal and should be fine. It's the rubber rear main that you want to change. Just pull it out and put the new one in.

Great, that's what I wanted to hear! Thanks!

With that said though the seal is sometimes hard to get out. Try not to pry it out with a screw driver as you could damage the housing. Most pullers work by piercing the seal and then using a hook and slide hammer to remove it.
