Why pay Active Autowerkes $10,900 for the same thing....

Why is it up for sale?
As I've mentioned before, most of my cars end up following the same mod pattern and I essentially end up with two or more of the same car. That's whats happened here, I have no use for two turbo m3s. So the 'slower' of the two kits is up for sale.

This is going up for sale on ebay in a few days, I thought I'd give BFc first dibs.

So how fast is it?
It's deceptively quick at 'low boost'. While under WOT it doesn't feel like armageddon or anything, it will eat up road with just a small stretch of the toes. Part throttle performance is perhaps the best improvement. No need to downshift, the car just goes. It's almost telepathic.

Heres a short video of 50-90 w/ about 100#s of extra crap in the car (luggage, wheels, etc). It won't mean much to those who don't know the e36 speedo by heart, as the resolution is crappy:
http://www.racefactoryfab.com/bfc/Video.3gp

The car is dead nuts even from about 30-100mph with 'nothing stock but the turbo' Evos. With my friend running almost 25psi/tune/full 3" exhaust no cats/etc, we were literally identical in performance at 5psi (I had a boost leak from earlier off road adventures :)).

What all is included
You'll note that quite a number of pieces are new or nearly new.

- Active Autowerkes 'Stage II' chip for OBD1 413 DMEs
- TD06 14cm^2 internally gated 20G Turbo [new wheels/bearings/seals as of 3,000 miles ago]
- SPA exhaust manifold (new)
- 2.5" downpipe w/ cats (allows the car to pass emissions...replace with a 3" for a noticeable increase in power)
- 42# 'green top' Ford Motorsport injectors (new)
- Porsche 993TT 3.5" HFM (new)
- OBD2 HFM adapter plug (new)
- VAC Cometic .140" Head Gasket (only been torqued down to 45ft/lbs...never fired up. You can re-use these numerous times)
- ARP Head Studs (only been torqued down to 45ft/lbs...never fired up. You can re-use these numerous times)
- Intercooler w/ brackets
- Bosch BPV
- all necessary charge piping
- all misc hose clamps/hoses/t-bolt clamps/oil feed/ oil drain/etc

But I bet I could build that kit for $74
If you stick around the FI section of the board you'll notice every month or so someone wanders in and bashes various vendors price points and vows to build a low buck, reliable kit. These people either a) vanish off into the distance never to be heard from again, b) go over budget and start a 'big boost' build, or c) blow their cars up.

Active want's $10,900 for this same kit (well with an external wastegate...around $200 to add if you wish) and used kits usually sell for around $5,000 on here. I just would like to see this kit go quickly.

Will it fit my 84 dodge colt
Probably not. The tune is set for a 3.0L OBD1 M3. The DME used is a 413, although if you have a 503(?), the wiring is the same...just pick up a used 'red label' dme for about $100.

The actual hardware will fit any E36M3, however tuning will need to be picked up from AA or elsewhere. Usually around $700 or so.

I am really interested in this kit, I was about to buy the c38 kit next week so I have money in hand. If you can post some pics that would be great.

Steve,

I am rather upset for the following reasons. It has been almost two months since I paypaled for the the turbo kit and since have recieved only 6 fuel injectors which are used when stated they would be new. A plastic cup full of bolts, a exhaust manifold and two 1 foot bent pipes with a poor chrome jobs. WTF, I have recieved no return phone calls or emails to try and explain the lack of parts sent to me. Where is my turbo kit? I want my money back today!!!

There should have been three other boxes. I haven't head from you via email (stevenrace@gmail.com) (screenshot...last email on 4/20 (http://racefactoryfab.com/gmail.jpg)nor my work phone. Give me a call at 901-566-2929 in the morning and we'll find out where everything is.

The cup of bolts = arp head stus
1ft 'chrome' pipes = new wastegate feed that came with the new manifold
The injectors should have been new, we can work that out as you see fit

Short of the intercooler brackets, everything should have been sent out. I work 80hr weeks so I've been relying on body shop guys to make sure things get sent out in a timely fashion. Again email or call me at work in the morning and we'll work something out.

Steven is pretty bad about sending parts. I bought a car from him in January, and I still have things that he owes me (rear diffuser, cps, etc). The parts that he did manage to get to me (wheels, vanos solenoid, other misc parts) took 5 MONTHS to get here.

Also, steven mis-represented the condition of the car that he sold me. He didn't mention the differential problem (yes, diffsonline said it had been like that for some time), and he failed to mention that the car was throwing codes for the o2 sensor, vanod solenoid, and cps until I took posession of the car...

Now, I replaced the Vanos solenoid, had to splice the o2 sensor into the harness, and replaced the CPS (which physically broke after an hour)

Oh yes, and last week the car spun a bearing and threw a rod through the side of the block and oil pan

To sum it up, Steven almost blatantly lied about the condition of the car, left details out almost on purpose, and is nearly impossible to contact. I have tried to call both of steven's numbers 40+ times and no answer, PMed him and no answer, and left messages and no answer. If you have the same problems with him that I did, you need to take a more active approach.
Good luck with getting the parts of the turbo kit, but I feel that you will be out of luck for some time.

Steven
I want my 3,400.00 US dollars returned by no later than June 1st (that is next Friday) via Paypal. I expect an email confirmation of your intention to return my funds by Wednesday May 30th. If I do not hear from you or receive funds you will be hearing from my attorney and I will be taking legal action for your breach of contract, your failure to provide a 100% complete AA turbo kit to me.

WTF

a) I spent all day Friday getting the car back in my possesion, have the remainder of parts boxed up, can provide pictures of everything, return your money, ship it out, whatever....

b) Jordan has made very little effort to get in touch with me over the week or so, but makes posts in here where I obviously won't see it. As mentioned above, with working 80hrs email is the best way to get in touch with me or via the work number provided above. All my info is out in the open, I'm not making any effort to hide.

As the party selling items, I know I'm in the wrong regardless of circumstances...but leaving a message that consists of incoherent mumbling into the phone doesn't help me much when I don't know what number to dial.

c) Chris, I've asked you repeatedly to send me a list of items you want (diffuser, any misc. trim pieces, etc), I've never received any email from you since the car was purchased...only various phone calls letting me know about the car/upgrades done/track events/etc...

I made no effort to hide anything about the car (as seen in the original ad). I replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor prior to deliverly, gave you a working vanos solenoid and new o2 sensor etc... I feel bad that you blew the motor, but something that happens 5 months later I don't exactly feel responsible for. However once you get it torn down and know the extent of the damage I can help you get it back up for fairly cheap. I have a few extra s50 rods I can give to you and point you in the direction of a cheap M50 block which you can bore out to s50 specs...

I had no knowledge of the diff being bad, you upgraded the diff because you kept snapping diff bolts (which I've never done on any of my cars, ever)...not because the diff exploded or something of the sort. That was a bit misleading.

The cps that 'broke off' , are you refering to the crank or camshaft sensor?

Anyways, Jordan: respond to my email and let me know what you want.

If you get it back, I call dibs. Will pick it up in person and cut out all of this bs.
