A local dealer has what appears to be a pretty good deal on a CPO 06 530xiT.
The car comes with the following options:

Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Premium Sound Package
Sport Package
Steptronic Automatic Trans
Heated Rear Seats
Xenon Headlights
18 Wheels W/Performance Tires
Satellite Radio
Certifed Warranty Through 11/23/2011 or 100,000 miles
Miles: 5100

The car would sticker at about 62k new. The dealer is asking 45k. According to Kelly Blue Book the car should retail for about 54k. So it seems like a really good deal. Thing is I'm in the process of building a brandnew house and would like to avoid another high car payment. I know CPO cars can be leased but I don't know much about this process. If anyone has any experience leasing a CPO car I'd appreciate any input you might have.

Thanks,
-MarcW

That seems like a great price to me Marc. I just bought a car w/ almost the exact same equipment as yours but no prem. radio and w/ nav for 42400 (19K). 5100 is hardly broken in if you ask me. Sorry no opinion on cpo leasing, maybe someone else will chime in.

I have no interest in starting a debate on the lease vs. buy subject, but in general leasing only comes out ahead if you're constantly replacing your car every few years. Switching out that much usually isn't a good financial move anyway.

To be honest, if you can't afford the mortgage and auto loan to where you have to lease, then you're either buying too much house or your looking at getting too much car. I'm sure they'd probably give you an awesome deal on buying an off-lease CPO 04. Plus BMW usually offers much better interest rates on their 3yr old cars than they do on their 1-2yr CPOs.

just my $.02 :)

You're probably right on the latter and I'm trying to buy more car than I should at this point in my life. As far as the house goes, there's little one can do if you're in a market where anything below 300k buys you a moving box under a bridge somewhere. Just hate having to miss out on a great deal. Anyway, thanks for the input.
