I went to test drive the 328 sedan on Saturday. I was very impressed.

Talked shop with the salesman, who by the way was the most knowledgeable and nice salesperson I have ever dealt with from any company. and my last 2 vechicles were from luxury manufacturers as well...

anyway, he told me they do not stock most of their cars and he would have to order my car. it would take 6-8 weeks to arrive.

my current lease does not end until the end September, and while I want the BMW NOW, I am really not in a rush to get ride of my current car and pay early termination fees, and the dealer was not willing to take my car payments or buy it, and I do not want to put the payments into a new lease..

should I order an '07 in say June, or wait

Well, if your lease isn't over until Sept '07, you could go to the dealer and find out if you can place an order for an '08 to arrive maybe Oct instead of getting an '07 right before the '08 comes out (w/no discounts).

No reason to pay early termination fees on your lease, and you have a chance of being first in line for an '08 this early.

I heard they're giving the 328i a facelift for the 2008 model year, so considering the fact your lease doesn't expire until the end of 2007 anyway I'd go ahead and wait.

I don't think the dealer will be taking orders for an 07 in September. Although, you will probably get a great deal if you can find one in their lot.

And what this I just saw posted in this thread that the 08 will be faced lifted????????????/ this is the first I have heard of this, can anyone else verify this?

Nothing verifiable, but rumors on other boards. Also do a google search. Basically there are spy photos out and people are speculating that it is going to happen.

oh man you scared me when you said face lift, if that picture is any indication of the 08 facelift, I would certainly get the 07 and save a few bucks, I can hardly see a difference at all.

plus autospies is the most unreliable source out there.

those spy shots are almost a year old... besides I wouldn't be surprised if that is just the ZHP version of the e90...

Congrats for your choice, you won't be disappointed. Have you tried calling your lease company and asking if the lease can be extended? A couple more months would do the trick.

I Can extend for up to 6 months at my current rate, but I will most likely order the BMW in June and get it in August, and just payoff the last month of the Infiniti

WTF is ZHP?

High Performance package. Something they introduced in the later years of the E46 run and may (or may not) introduce for the E9x platform down the road. It bumped the HP on the E46 330 from 215 to 235 and added a few other things which are escaping me at the moment.

Not quite M suspension, but a more agressive setup than the normal 330i, and it doesn't have the LSD, unfortunately :(
