got a problem with my e34 525i.Car drives fine, except for one creeping problem with the idle.car will die off each time I stop it at lights etc when in N position.doesnt matter if the a/c is running or not,the idle will drop to about 500rpm and then just flame out.starting it again is not a problem eachtime.
Have replaced the idle valve, done a full diagnostic(no fault shown),checked all hoses for leaks. My mechanic suspects it could be the ecu.
anyone can help?

Hi could be a silly question but have you tried turning the idle up a bit on the throttle

I've never heard of an ECU doing things like that, but it sounds like you have a good excuse for a performance chip.
Does the car run fine otherwise?

I can't imagine shipping of a small electronic chip would be that bad.
I had a sorta similar problem with my 535i (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=588392). Different car but something to consider.
