View Full Version : Rumor mill lower price of 335i coupe
spiike 03-25-2007, 11:19 PM I had a debate with some coworkers because they insisted that BMW will be lowering the price of the 335i coupe to meet consumer demand within the next year so I should wait to purchase mine. I countered with the fact that it is still a new car and has a fresh appeal. So it will hold it's current sticker through the end of the year. I searched google and forums for this kind of info and came up with nothing. Does anyone know of such information?

If there is a lot of demand for a product, you would expect prices to rise.
Next years Beamers are usually the same price, but come with more features and more power as standard.
theroyalwe 03-25-2007, 11:43 PM lower price because the car is too popular to keep on the lot? riiight. the coupes won't be just sitting on the lots for a while... and even when that does happen I doubt the price will go down. if they need to spur sales all they do is lower the MF or raise the residual on leases. also lets throw in the pending release of the 335xi coupe before the end of the year... that will bring up any possible slacking in sales. at the moment we're MONTHS out on new orders... it wouldn't hurt my feelings to have a few coupes on the lot and quick ordering, but I doubt that will happen within a year and I also doubt they would make a car cheaper for any reason.
KPACOTKA 03-26-2007, 02:48 AM Demand will be certainly calm down because:
1. G37, new C and other competitor models will be out
2. new M3 will be available as well
BMW won't decrease price because
1. Inflation
2. Euro is going up
However we can expect easy negotiation of lower price and incentives the end on next year

people that tell you to wait until price gets cheaper are poor
sorry to be so harsh, not trying to be a dick
maybe you should wait until its a common commodity to make your purchase, because then the price will equal its cost

You are not being a dick and I agree. Those coworkers of your are probably living in a trailer and have a mutt dog called "spike". They also probably have STDs and didn't finish highschool. What are you waiting for? Go buy the bimmer!!

You don't have to be poor to be stingy. Lots of people I know with substantial incomes are hard to let loose their hard earned dollars. There is even a guy named Clark Howard in Atlanta who has made a career out of being stingy, and he's a millionaire. Only problem is that he's a cheap ass who lives in a $200k house and drives Toyotas.

Pure Fantasy!

Jhunter 03-26-2007, 09:52 AM I don't think you will see a price decrease. Look at the E46, the coupe always sold for a premium over the sedan. Even though the coupe is a different chassis now BMW will simply adjust production to meet demand. The only way you will see a price decrease is if the entire 3 series line sales do not meet expectations. The first thing you will see are the lease factors changing, lower money factors and higher residual value in an attempt to move cars. The coupe lease factors are and have been more expensive than the sedan, you will see these change long before there is a change to the sticker price.
SocratesBMW 03-26-2007, 10:03 AM They just increased the prices this month. If demand stay shte way it is, the price will only go up; especially considering the features and options that may come with the 2008 models. I had to wait 4 months for my 335 and there was no room for negotiation of price. My dealer had a list of 20+ ppl who were in line for this car.
Ask you friends if they would lower a price on a product they sold that they couldn't keep on the shelves. You're friends wouldn't do very well in the business world and in a capaitalist society.
