Hey i got this new alarm the CLIFFORD MATRIX RS3. Im getting it installed but since my car is prewired for an alarm what does that mean? should the person doing the alarm know about this or do i need to tell him. Is there any extra sensors he can hook up to the new alarm?

If they are good at alarms, they should know about the connector behind the glovebox. It has all the connections they will need to get the alarm to work. If they tap into the wires there, you should be good to go. Don't let them tear your car apart to get to other wires, they are ALL behind the glovebox.

well plans changed and they ended up not being able to do it. Im thinking about doing this myself with my brothers help. (computer engineer) This seems to be a very complex alarm so I dont want to mess it up. I know that the wires are all right there but how do I know what wires are what.. ?

If you order the harness from www.autotoys.com, it will let you know which wires connect where on the alarm. Also, check out www.understeer.com for the double-locking trick.

Damn! $32 + shipping for that cheesy harness from autotoys. I think I will be doing some splicing...
The part can't cost more than $2 to mfr. Supply and demand I guess *shakes head*

Where did u end up getting it installed?
I have an Alpine and am currently thinking about either DIY or a shop install.
