Iam looking for a trailer hitch for my 2006 330xi. I found that a company called curt makes one for the 2006 325 wagon. I called them and they said they have not tried it on the sedan yet. If anyone has please let me know. It seems as if its the same rear on the bottom...I anyone has pics or the rear bottom of a 2006-7 3 series wagon please send them to me...thanks Anthony

The Curt Designs hitch for 2006 325xi wagon WILL fit my 2006 330xi. (e90, 4 door sedan). My local installer ordered the Curt and the frame members behind the bumper align with the hitch rear mounting points just fine (everything bolts on). No cutting of the plastic valence. Going forward, the Curt hitch for the wagon has a 2 foot long heavy bar to transfer pulling loads forward. The wagon set-up seems to assume that an A frame mount is on the car to bolt this heavy bar to. My 4 door sedan (e90) did not have a place to "just bolt up to". on the front member. My installer fabricated a piece of heavy bar that has two 90 degree bends and short (about 1.5 inch long legs) and then bolted everything to the heavy framing of the car. An equal system of attachment in his view.
Total cost was $500, including hitch, fab, a bit of fiddling (they took the bumper skin off, but probably didn't have to) and wiring in and supplying a modulite trailer light controller. Reasonable, given the effort they spent to get it to work.
Curt hitch comes with a drawbar and pin. Everything is heavy, deep powercoat in black. Hitch tucks in nicely. A square plate shows above the receiver portion that could be trimmed in advance by about an inch (wagon must have a different bumper shape). Curt customer service folks are very nice, but could not state how or if their wagon hitch would mate to a sedan. They did a design/install from a customer's wagon that was local and could only verify fit for a wagon.
All in all, I'm happy. Best to start with Curt design hitch for the 325 wagon, rather than fab from scratch. And it is fun going out with toys or bikes behind the bimmer. Lots of positive comments, even at Home Depot. Yes I have a huge truck for heavy hauling. This setup is just right for 80 percent of what I mount, tow and/or haul.
