Just an FYI for people - the Sparco bar I bought on a group-buy here on Bimmerforums installed in 5 minutes with a perfect fit. A 13mm wrench and a small washer to fit under the cruise control cable bracket is all I needed.
I have to say there is a significant improvement in the ride quality and handling on my car - at least on rough / older pavement.
I'm suprised BMW doesn't fit these as standard equipment on convertibles.

Yeah, I put one on a couple of months ago and it installed fast and easy. The only thing that took time was painting it... I had to rattle-can mine flat black before the install as I'm not much for flash under the hood.
I can't say my car is faster throught the turns for sure, but thre's a significant reduction in the shake up front on almost all road surfaces.
I thought it might be a waste of money, but now I'm happy i added the bar.

a LOT less cowl shake. I did a before/after run over the same route and it was a huge improvement. I even had someone in the car to make sure it wasn't a placebo effect.
I was afraid it wouldn't fit, thinking my old 'vert had flexed enough in its day to prevent proper fitment. I'm happy to report that mine fit perfectly too, and I noticed a reduction in cowl shake.
Good bar for the price, no doubt.
