Ok, so yesterday I installed the IPod interface into the 545. I must say this is pretty slick.

I love having the Ipod be charged, that's very cool. In the trunk away from wires hanging around.

I love the Idrive wheel to pick songs, so cool. Using the 6 CD tabs for playlists, artists etc.

I really love the sound, going through whatever it does with the logic 7 rules. I had to go in and adjust the eq down a bit since the signal was coming through so strong.

I don't know if it is as good as a cd, but it is nice to have all those songs right there, especially the playlist tab.

Anyways, it was $ 630.00 installed, included labor (4 hours) of programming. I had to get an update anyways, so left it overnight.

Great investment and highly recommend it to all!

I had in itnstalled on my e46 a few months ago. It is amazing. Even without the i-drive interface. I can highly recommend this accessory to anyone on the fence. Cost of my install as $480.

Who did you have perform the upgrade? Dealership?I'm intersted in the same thing...

Yes I have one and I'm very happy with it. No more burned CDs.

Just don't try to add enough items to any of the lists so that the list exceeds 250 items (songs, artists, albums, playlists)...there seems to be a 250 item limit that BMW doesn't bother to tell you about until you discover it and ask them to fix it...

I just had my 545 integrated with my ipod and am having problems with getting playlists and all my songs to come up. My 80 gig ipod has apprx 8500 songs. Only 500 come up on idrive and only one of many playlists show on idrive. what is going on??

can you explain what you mean by this?? Can the dealer fix this. If this is the case I am very unhappy with this installation.
