Does anyone know if there is a significant difference in the quality of the OEM windshield compared with the aftermarket windshilds sold by 3rd party auto glass shops. (Is the vert windshield spec stronger due to more chassis flex and twising etc.?)

Just make sure it's made by the same manufacturer who makes the OEM one. PPG for example. I replaced my RX300 windshield on insurance and the shop showed me windshields are identical, except for no Toyota/Lexus logo. Just ask the shop pros, you can likely even pay extra if you REALLY want OEM.

That's what I want to hear...I hate paying dealer prices if there is no real value or reason to buy OEM. Thanks.

yeah, i dont think there is anything special about the vert windsheild. the thought of using glass as a weight-bearing support a few inches in front of my face is kind of scary. :eyecrazy
reaoem.com has the same part numbers for coupes & convertibles anyways.
