I have a 06 5 and just bought a sirius radio. It came with an FM antenna extender so the station link will be strong. Does anyone know where to best place the extender? Where is the radio antenna in the 5; in the shark fin, embedded in the back window or somewhere else?

I doubt that your car came prepped for satellite. So you can probably forget the fin.

I have an '06 5 Series and I had an AUX port installed by BMW in order to connect my XM Satellite receiver. I have my satellite antenna on the front of my dash near my windshield. My satellite was installed by BestBuy.

The system sounds great and volume works with my steering wheel.

I didn't get the FM extender because you don't need it for my type of installation. I suggest you go back to your supplier to ask about installing for you or to get instruction on how the extender works.
