It's a shame that there's still no pics of it, but on a BMW meet 2 weeks ago, some e36 vert owner had 20" AC Schnitzer type IV's on it and it looked amazing!

On this car...front need dropping.

Is it actually safe to have rims that big? Like the bimmer otherwise.

Is it actually safe to have rims that big? Like the bimmer otherwise.they make the car slower, are heavier, make the ride harsher, and can mess with the accuracy of the speedometer & odometer.... but ive never heard of larger wheels actually being 'dangerous'.

Mostly I would we concerned with additional weight and stress on the suspension. But I am no pro in these things so I do not make any claims here :cool

The offset on your rims are deep. Looks good.

Drop in the front would look good... maybe take off the chrome on the grill (black them out to match your top).

Looks good, but I would have to agree that the rims look too big, unless you got hydraulics:b_multi

Very true. It's all about unsprung weight. People do much to make the car (bodywork) lighter, but you're better off doing what's on the axles first.

+1.

Not to mention the fact that I personally never go more than a Plus 1 sizing over the max that is offered from factory. With that in mind, 18's would be the largest I would go on an E36 M3. And to be honest, considering how firm the stock M3 ride quality is? I'd never exceed the factory 17 sizing. Been down the large rim/lowering spring road before, and let's just say I've learned my lessons from experience, and know how to appreciate a factory developed well engineered suspension setup.

with that in mind, the rims are nice. Would have been even nicer in a 17 inch or 18 inch diameter.

Indeed. I'm now on 18" M5 rep winter wheels. Hopefully soon...I'll be sporting my BMW issued 2-piece BBS RC041's 17"
