Anybody have any instructions on clocking a turbo? I'm almost positive my compressor outlet points towards my engine and I would like to move it a little. Thanks guys!

Slightly loosen the bolts on the back side of the compressor housing and rotate it to where you need it. Then tighten them back up. If you can't get to those bolts, you may have to drop the turbo and then rotate the compressor housing. WCM3 03-21-2007, 09:11 PM That's easy enough if you have access to the bolts. The turbo is still off the car, I just positioned it against the manifold and it didn't look like it worked too well. I will loosen the bolts at the back and clock it to where the easiest routing will be. WCM3 03-22-2007, 08:37 AM Another question actually. Are the bolts torqued after you clock the compressor housing? What torque specs? 5mall5nail5 03-22-2007, 09:13 AM Another question actually. Are the bolts torqued after you clock the compressor housing? What torque specs? Just do them "tight enough" HyperHoHo 03-22-2007, 10:50 AM Everything on a car has a torque spec, but like UrineMachine said, just snug it up...good and tight! 5mall5nail5 03-22-2007, 04:25 PM Yeah you could get into it and see if its an M8.8 bolt and then its X foot pounds etc... but usually when you start torquing small bolts to torque without really competent devices, you over/under torque. Just like valve cover gasket bolts, just snug them up until it feels plenty tight e34m535t 03-22-2007, 05:17 PM Since your just rotating the compressor housing, your Oil drain will stay in place relative to the turbine housing. But Just to mention, make sure your Oil drain is pointing pretty close to straight down. |
