I will be switching over from Falken RT-615s to the new, and hopefully hot, RE-01Rs for the street. Deeper tread and a few more grooves for wet dispersal.

I loved the 615s because of their stiff sidewalls and rubber compound. I hope I'll feel the same or better about the 01Rs.

Anyone here running them?

There is a thread active within the last few days asking about the best dry performance tire that contains some RE01R details. I need tires this year and am looking at these, but they are definitely on the heavy side as tires go and they are not available in the 255/40/17 size that I wanted.

Heavy wt or price? Wt wise they are a match to 615s and just a little more $$$ wise.

I just got some a few weeks ago and so far I really like them. They are stickier than the S03s I had before in the dry and don't seem too bad in the wet (only rained twice). I am taking them to autocross in a couple weeks, where I will learn a lot more about how much I like them, but as of now I am very happy with them; very grippy, quiet and reaonably priced on TRack. They get my nod. Hope this helps.

My brother has them in 245/40/17 for his S13. He likes them a lot; they've been to a couple track days and they seem to be holding up nicely.

Yes that's what I've been hearing. Will buy some next week.
