Has anyone swapped out the bulbs in the fogs on their 745? If so, has anyone found a brand and part # for something that matches the factory HID's fairly closely ??

As far as I know, this topic has never come up. May you be the first and have good luck finding the answer. Please keep us posted. wesman 03-21-2007, 06:09 PM Thanks T Doesn't seem to be much traffic in here at all, I think it's because of hte format.....not very user friendly. Know of any better forums out there? I'm gonna take a look around. --wes T56 Impala 03-21-2007, 07:53 PM Really? Humm. I think this is one of the finest auto related forums around. The e65/66 is a fairly "new" incarnation and not many of us have done our own work to them yet. The other folks here are super about the e23/32/38. They really know thier stuff! Sorry you feel it is unfriendly. Please stick around. You will find we are more than happy to help. wesman 03-21-2007, 10:19 PM It is a great forum overall, my wife had a 328CI a coupel of years ago and this place is a wealth of knowledge for the 3 and 5 series and early model 7's. It's just lacking a bit for the E65/66, lack of seperate forum perpetuates this as it's a PITA to find any information on our cars, the search is horrible overall and it's like finding a needle in a haystack to track down posts abotu our cars. I was just hoping there were other alternatives for the E65/66 out there that were more user friendly and had the information more accesible. I wont be leaving the forum, in fact I'll likely be posting more as I figure things out about the car. I've done the same with my other cars, I jsut assumed that many of these things would already be figured out/discussed as the model has been out for 5 years now. thanks again for the reply, it seems you and I are about the only E65/66 posters on here . --wes unirok 03-22-2007, 07:46 AM I have a 2002 745i and so far the fog lights are holding up well. I have not found a good bulb to make the fogs look more HID. All halogens look yellowish compared to hid inho. T56 Impala 03-22-2007, 09:01 AM There are a few of us on here. Most were e38 owners like myself. I am actually excited about learning about these cars. Not taht I really want to do anything to it. It would be nice to know more about them though. Very few aftermarket parts exisit for thse right now. I might do springs on mine if I can get some answers from the companies I have contacted. You can try roadfly and bimmerboard but I really don't like the layout of them. I'm not sure about the search function either. If they have one, I never tried it. I have posted to both of the before but got very little feedback. unirok 03-22-2007, 09:48 AM There are a few of us on here. Most were e38 owners like myself. . I was not a previous E38 owner. The E65 is my intro to the BMW world. I wish we had a seperate forum specifically for the E65/66 model cars. I guess the E65/66 is still at a price that the people that can afford them bring them to the dealer for everything. T56 Impala 03-22-2007, 10:16 AM I suggested the seperate forum a while back simply for the ease of searching. No reply so far. :( What was your previous car? Just curious why you picked the e65. I went for another 7 after my accident and how I feel the e38 and BMW saved my life. There was never any guestion in my mind. unirok 03-22-2007, 10:28 AM My previous car was a 2005 Bonneville GXP. Thats the model with the cadillac 4.6 Northstar in it. I suggested the seperate forum a while back simply for the ease of searching. No reply so far. :( What was your previous car? And will be posting pics post-bodyshop at the end of the month ;) T56 Impala 03-22-2007, 12:44 PM GXP, quick car. Was that the supersharged one or the NA one? Did you ever have the intake manifold water leak? Sure can mess up an enging quick! Pop's Caddy did that. BOOM! Oh well. Scorcher: Why is yours in the shop? Hope it was nothimg too serious. Mine has to go back in for a few nit picky things. While its in, I'm going to get the Sirius installed and the frontend aligned since I put the new wheels on. It doesn't seem like it needs it but better safe than sorry! |
