I bet you can get 5-7K if you play your cards right in parting everything out.

I'd think so... closer to the $5k, depends on interior color and condition, and what options. If it has Nav, I'd be tempted to go closer to $3k on it.

Problem is, that's a $2,000-2,500 car from a salvage auction. Also doesn't say how many miles... assume it's got 130-150k, trans isn't really worth much of anything, open diff, not a big demand for axles and driveshafts... stock suspension isnt worth anything... plus on E39s, once you start getting to EWS3 cars, the used electroncs aren't worth anything. Got a used 2002 540i DME? That'll make a nice ashtray.. that's about it.
