I just emailed him telling him that he was mistaken about the bullet proof glass, that it is just "break resistant." I love straightening people out. Price is too high.

I think this one has a sunroof. The protection model does not have a sunroof. The 750iL came with insulated glass standard, the owner just doesn't know what he has.:rolleyes

Do the 750 Protections have a reinforced roof, and maybe that's why they can't have a sunroof? Frickin' like Bond and what not!! :buttrock

the sunroof will be a WEAK link (i.e. GLASS) and defeats the protection purpose (e.g. rollovers, sniper attempts, etc.)

Good point... guess I was thinkin' if they could make the windows protective, maybe it could have a sunroof, too.

I will keep an eye out for that detail! Has a opening in the roof... not a Protection. Come to think of it, besides a Protection, could you get a 7 without a sun-moon roof? I don't think I have seen one without it...

They do make sunroofs bulletproof but not as a factory BMW option. You can get plenty of aftermarket bullet proofing solutions with sunroofs.

Here's an easier way to tell - if the windows roll down it's not a protection model. On true P models the front windows go down about halfway and the rears don't move at all.

You'll never have to replace window regulators for the rear windows! And the sunroof will never leak either.:cool

Pictures above were posted by M. Wong and I believe the VIP inside (Sri Lankan Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa) did survive the hit: http://www.spur.asn.au/LTTE_Suicide_20061201_Gotabhaya_Rajapaksa.htm
