HAs this happened to anyone out there. I started the car and before shifting gears I turned the wheen and it shekes. Not much but a vibration that was not there.. Then as I was driving I felt the wheel becoming heavy. I contacted a BMW mechanic and he said to refill the power stearing reservoir which I lear today takes ATF fluid. anyhow, it doesnt feel as heavy but still shakes when I turn.. help plz

So did you check the fluid level? Also feel around the bottom of it and follow those hoses with your hand. If there's fluid all over them, then they leak.

I've seen a lot of posts here about leaks in the pressure hose to the steering box (the hose runs next to the driver's side exhaust manifold - just open the hood and look down next to the fender). Mine was leaking on the underside of the hose where there is a factory connector held by a metal clip. It was hard to find because I couldn't see the leak from above and it would drip down on the suspension and the wind would blow it around (including onto the hoses on the bottom of the reservoir). After the leak got bad enough I could see where it was coming from when I was under the car so I unhooked the hose from the clip and turned it a little and I could then see the leak. It about drove me crazy for a couple weeks.

Good luck and let us know what you find.
