I bought a used wind deflector a couple of years ago (used) and it has a black rod about 12" long with a rubber tip taped to the frame. Does anyone know what that's for?

It looks like it was packaged that way when new but I have no idea what it does.

On the bottom part of my wind deflector, there is a metal rod in the center that runs front to back. Does your's have this rod in place? If not, that's were it should go.
