For sale: 4 wheel StopTech BBK for an E36 M3 with 355x32mm front rotors and 332x32mm rear rotors. Calipers are black and rotors are slotted; comes complete with Axxis pads and stainless brake lines front and rear.

This kit is brand new and has only been opened to drool on the parts. Car is being sold, so they are no longer needed.

This is the same kit Turner lists for $4995, I'm asking $4000 (new price!) plus shipping from 60610.

I've always wondered how an E36 M3 BBK would work with my E30 M3. I have the E36 M3 upgrade right now but just curious if anyone has ever tried running one of these with my setup. Hmm... I guess if I wanted to do a BBK I could just buy the set specifically for the E30 M3. Either way these brakes are sick! Another bump for a sick upgrade!

StopTech doesn't have a set for the E30 M3 at least not currently but there's always interest. I've seen a few club racers with the E36 StopTechs mounted on E30s though. With an E36 front strut housing conversion this would be a slam dunk mod.

Free bump!

Carlos.

I don't believe so, but it might fit _some_ 17" wheels. The best way to be sure is to check using StopTech's wheel fitment template:

The e36 M3 hats are about 12mm deeper than the ones for e30 M3s. That means that the rotors will be too inward. No workie.

Sorry to hijack Joel's thread but there is indeed an off-the-shelf 13" x 1.25" kit with 6 pots SL6R calipers that is a specific bolt-on for e30 M3s. Front 13" x 1.25" and rear 12.2" x 1.25" available. The whole set costs the same as a front-only AP kit. It has been around for 6 months and a third production is currently being made. Check on the net for Massive Brakes.

Sorry. I can't say more :D.

Hi
Could you please check for the pistons size for the front and the rear calipers ?
And could you please post pictures of the pistons of the front and rear calipers ?

Thx.

A final price update before they go on ebay:

$4000 firm + shipping paid in cash/Paypal instant transfer, ie no CC. That's $1000 off of Turner's price and these are brand new!

If you want the rears only, maybe, lets talk. If you want the fronts only, no.

Just an FYI for you guys... I'm not trying to mess up a potential sale or anything. Just want to share my experience.

Splitting a rear setup from a "front & rear kit," to mate with a "front-only kit" isn't a good idea. I've talked with an engineer from StopTech about this before, and the front caliper piston diameters are different between the "front only kit" and the "front & rear kit." As to how much, I do not remember... Although StopTech did have some rears in stock from a "front and rear kit," the engineer advised against buying the just the rears, as it would affect brake bias enough. This meant buying a complete "front and rear kit" was the correct solution... And no, he wasn't trying to make a profit. He actually talked me into keeping the "front only" kit as is (a properly developed kit vs. a mismatched brake bias setup).

In the past, StopTech used to offer a trade-in program for people who wanted to upgrade from "front only" to "front and rear." However, since the company changed hands back in early 2006, they no longer offer that as a solution/option.

Hope you find this information useful... Good luck with the sale of the kit, as it is a very nice setup!
