View Full Version : Looking to Buy: No specifics, under $5,000
h3ll r0t 03-20-2007, 07:36 AM Hello everyone,
I recently just got into a a bad accident with my 1988 321ic (drunk driver hit me going 120 mph and totaled the car). Unfortunately, the insurance company is bending me over and not giving me more than $5,000, when the car, at this point, was worth over $15,000 (brand new interior, etc). Anyway, I'm looking for a new (used) BMW around $5,000 to get me around for the next 2 years, until I can get the money to restore my baby. Preferably automatic, but still interested in manuals.
Thanks!!!:D

ohnoes 03-24-2007, 10:06 PM OP: Why did you not purchase additional coverage for your modifications? Insurance companies will do that, yannow. :confused
Your fault, IMHO. In fact, they were pretty generous. $5k for a 19-year-old car worth $3,000 by KBB standards is pretty nice.

The guy is asking for a 5K car. He was just hit by a drunk driver. I'm guessing he is pretty happy just to be unhurt.I am sure he has kicked himself up and down his street for his insurance issue. Does he really need a lecture? Let's let him try and find a car.
h3ll r0t 03-25-2007, 03:40 PM haha...
She, that is.
Yeah, there should have been additonal insurance but que sera.
I'm really not picky with specs....any model will do, I just need it to last about 2 years, good gas mileage, dependable.
Thanks!

incognito1 03-26-2007, 10:23 AM I'm guessing Florida is too far away. I've got a dependable 88 325i that I'd consider selling to ya. I'm in the process of fixing my issues with the fuel sending unit and rack. Oh yeah, it's a vert with an auto. 0 rust
