I really, really like it. Except the rear lights..but they're alright. Looks like the 1 is going to replace the 3's old market segment... those 3's are getting insanely expensive fro the base model..

Yea, BMW marked the prices UP again on the new 3s.

i have been waiting for bmw to offer something like this. It's really about time. Not everyone in america is huge, and not everyone in america wants a huge vague electronics-laden plastic car either. Thank god.

The base e36 was dirt cheap compared to a 328i sedan or coupe now.

You cant even see the true shape of the tailights behind all the tape. How can one dislike it? :confused

Something i dont like is the rear glass angle, its too upright for my tastes.

I like it! Those big fender flares are rad... they'll look good when it's lowered + CSL's :drool:

For 30k I want a car with a little more room, without the go cart styling.

I hear the car handles pretty good, It's the look I really don't like.

ya that is too bad for us here in the states..... I drove my older brother's 2006 130i M-sport with 6-speed in Taiwan last summer ( where is very rare to see BMW with stick shift cuz you would find youself in traffic 90% of the time....:mad ) anyways....it is a awsome car!!

Not quite. My 1992 325is sticker price was ~$29,000 with all the options available, sans automatic transmission. Inflation according to http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl would put that price at ~$42,400 in 2007.
