I read the "issues solved" thread I never found anything on this.

Basically I am hearing an intermittent rattle from the back passenger side of my car. I am pretty sure it's not coming from my trunk, brakes or RSM's so that basically leaves the top. Is there a common part in it which starts to rattle over time or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Edit. I should mention that it sounds very metallic (almost like small pellets in a can).

maybe you should go and tighten all the little nuts & bolts in the storage compartment? :dunno i dont think theres a whole lot in there to rattle.

its a little scary to see all the convertible issues in one place. i dread the day mine comes down with some of these problems! :eyecrazy

Does the sound occur when the top is up AND down?

Just to make sure...

could also be a shot topmount or maybe a rear trailing arm bushing.

I've taken a look in there but have not tightened anything yet so I will try that.

I only notice it when the top is up.

I'll also give my rear trailing arm bushings a checkover.

I think my rear pass quarter window rattles. It's worse when the top is down, but I haven't been able to find exactly what is loose and how to fix it yet. If you happen to have a passenger, have them put some pressure on the rear quarter window and see if the noise goes away.

The only disadvantage to a job, a house and a fiancee is that quality time with the car is nonexistant.

You think it's bad now? Wait until you have a baby. Then you REALLY have no time. Except for late Fri and sat nights after the baby and the mother have gone to sleep. Then you can creep into the garage and work on your car in peace. :D

Question. I see you have the Depo lights. Are you satisfied with them? any leakage issues or OBC warning light issues?

They are the GenIV's which frankly in my opinion are just as good as the ZKW's now but for half the price. They do not leak nor condensate inside at all. Fit and finish is almost OEM like and they don't throw any codes or lights.

I bought them off of the group buy by Habbie and I would definately recommend others to buy them from him.

My convertible has a squeak that comes from the passenger side suspension. I have taken everything apart when I did the rear wheel bearing and lubed everything well when I put it all back together.
A few months later the squeak comes back. I just hit the lower suspension on that side with some lube better then WD-40 and it is gone. I am beginning to think it is the parking brake clamp but I am too busy to just put it on the rack, lube one item and then check.
I have a very infrequent clunk as well in the same location. I had no noises until I replaced the Boge sports that were shot with Bilsteins.
I am really thinking it is the brake clamp and the bracket on the brake backing plate.
Anyone else have this located?
