FredK 03-18-2007, 07:52 PM If this is Kavkazia's old car, he used the E46 M3 accelerator pedal.

Yes this is his old car. And yes it has the throttle-by-wire assembly.
I am selling the car purely for financial reasons. I am going to have the opportunity to invest in a business.
How much? Well please contact me and we can talk pricing.

Bob h 03-19-2007, 01:38 PM Edan,
Thanks for the call this morning.
I'll post some of what we talked about here to help with the questions.
-First, no AC in the car, likely no equipment at all - including what is under the dash - meaning your looking at a fair penny to put it back in,(a big factor for those of us down south).
-No drivers airbag - somewhat intuitive with the wheel replacement
-The car has the oil cooler installed
-He's fairly sure the ABS is fully functional,(there was some question about this before)
-No functioning cruise control
Yes, this is Kavkazia's old car. See thread here:
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=447771
He bought it back in Dec.
<edited for content>
Also, Edan recently updated the Ebay ad with info at the bottom after the pictures,(about one of the windows not going all the way up, interior, etc..)

I won't spoon feed all the details of price, etc. - if your really interested in the car, it is expected you will do some research on older theads about this car and what to expect.
In my opinion, it will drive and run fine - the AC will be a significant factor for some of us. With any swap, esp. one where they were in the wiring behind dash of any significance, you cannot expect a perfect running car with no problems - you will likely have to chase down electrical gremlins.
Also, Edan recently updated the Ebay ad with info at the bottom after the pictures,(about one of the windows not going all the way up, interior, etc..)

Bob,
So far I have had no electrical gremlins. I have driven the car a fair amount in the time that I have owned it and only had minor things that you even expect from a stock E36, Rear Taillight reading popping up on OBC, window not going up all the way, which I am actually in the process of fixing and will likely not be a problem at the time the car is sold, as I have figured out what the actual problem is. That said anyone who is interested in the car should really call me and discuss their concerns. I am always open to listen and chat about anything that may be on a prespective buyers mind.
As for me no AC was not a big deal, I was planning on using the car as a track car and so the windows would be done most of the time anyways, and in all the older cars I have ever owner, 1960's and 1970's I never actually had AC so not having it now was not a big concern of mine. For me it was actually a plus for many reason. One less thing to worry about, recharging it, a belt slipping off, and it actually robbed me of some horsepower.
That said anyone intersted can debate the merits of the car. But Please, Please, do not debate them in this thread. As this is a for sale thread and I would like to keep it that way.
Thanks,
Edan
bryanm3 03-19-2007, 04:20 PM bump for a great car and seller

Edan,
Absolutely. I'm sorry it didn't come off that way - before I left for work, I actually tried to remove the last paragraph after I read the post - but bimmerforums went down for maint and I had to leave to fly.
<edit - I have since removed the last paragraph to keep the thread on track>
I'll be in touch via e-mail about my interest.

UKRSTI 03-19-2007, 09:12 PM I don't understand this constant secresy around pricing, why not just come out and say it? You have to email or im to get it?
Hopefully, you'll change your mind and post it. I think Kavakazia was looking for 15-16K, that's one thing, but if you're looking for 20K than it's another.
liilpa09 03-19-2007, 09:24 PM I've seen this car in person quite a few times (back when it was owned by kavkazia in Philly, who did the engine swap) and i can say that it is an incredible car with a perfect swap...very powerful as well. If anyone has a copy of the "Ready Fuels" DVD, there's a whole segment devoted to this car. Whoever gets this will be very happy! good luck with the sale!

That's his call if he wants to put it out or not.
<edit - I forgot with the different forums I frequent - that's not an option on this forum - I was taking ownership because of the problems I continually encounter when I have sold items here, esp. the two cars I have tried to sell here - which did have a price listed>
I'm not being "secretive" about the price, I'm trying to respect Edan and his selling the car. He didn't tell me not to post it, but that is what I felt was appropriate to do and would prefer if I was in his position.
Once a price is put out publicly, many feel it is their duty to say why it is not worth that value and for sale threads turn into bash threads - you don't have to look far in any of these forums to see that. As a matter of fact, you have to work hard to find a car for sale ad which doesn't have someone posting that the price is too high or the car isn't worth it.
Ok, end rant. That's why I was looking to delete part of my earlier post and now have - as it can be interpreted at a bash on price. I was mainly trying to get the info out about the car since it is very hard to find.
To continue my earlier post - from what I have gathered in research and discussion with Edan, the car will run and drive great and will provide loads of fun for someone. This is the perfect platform for a serious DE toy. If your looking at driving it every day and are in a hotter climate, you should be aware of the lack of cruise and AC.

UKRSTI 03-20-2007, 07:46 AM Bob my comment was for the seller and not you (not sure why you're taking such an ownership in somebody else's for sale thread to begin with).
As a side note, people bashing your price is one thing, but loosing prospective buyers because they are tired of having to do this every single time is another. But you're right, it is at the sellers discretion.
txp135 03-20-2007, 10:10 AM When posting an item for sale...

Post a specific price for the item. No BEST OFFERS accepted. This is not an auction site, eBay listings are prohibited.

I think it's just fair to follow the rules of the classifieds forums. No need for arguments, we're suppose to help out each other.
BMW02 03-20-2007, 10:20 AM A price was posted up until last monday. Right now, the price would give away the reserve of the auction. I know this is not an auction sight and if you really want me to throw out a price I can add the price here as I have done in the past. Price set= $100k. There forums rules satisfied.
Bob hit the nail on the head about there not be a price posted. Serious buyers will call or email. People how are not as serious will Post something in the thread and bash the price.
txp135 03-20-2007, 10:53 AM I think the rules are there to prevent auctioneers and businesses to take advantage of the forums. I don't think the forums' rules are still up for vote. They are set rules. Everyone can have opinions, Bob included. But we all share the forums and we need to check ourselves to make sure we follow the rules.
As this is a forums for enthusiasts. Some might pop in to give a comment here and there. A lot of the comments are actually possitive. And one cannot complain about free bumps. Just a reminder, Ebay listings are prohibited.
at that price, I'm surprised it's not sold yet. I've seen 1/24 models run a couple times more.
Kreit2 03-20-2007, 11:47 AM I'll take it for $5.99 shipped.
IrishTarmac 03-20-2007, 03:44 PM good luck getting 24,000
