None of the usual suspects will be there in June (peachtree bmw, nasa). Peachstate PCA will be there and I'm pretty sure they'll take a BMW. I also checked trackschedule.com (every driving event in the east) but the site is down.

i'm instructing at Barber over memorial day weekend. And was thinking why not make it 2 for 1 while i'm over there.

I have to be back in tx by june 16/17 to race here, but the first two weekends are good.

chris, you ever run with the pca group? Whats the word on them?

I've never run with Peachstate but I know a lot of the drivers and they're great guys. I've run with Alabama PCA and they're awesome.

Check with Peachstate and see if you can get in. Even if they drop a 'no bmws' rule on you I might still be able to get you in...PM me down the road.

anyone know of a good place that could store my truck/trailer/car for the two weeks between events?

Hmmm...obvious choice would be Strictly German which is right down the street but I've heard that place is for sale. I have some buds in the area but they all live in subdivisions. As a last resort you can take the rig to a storage place and pay $50 or so.

If you know anybody at Sunbelt you can give them a call. In the back of their property they have a spot that would accomodate your setup. They will likely charge you a few bucks (if you can believe that) but it's an option.

PCA will allow BMWs to run. That is, if you can sign up before its filled. Like most, registration for members opens up a week earlier and from my experience is typically full by the end of the week. Its the entire reason why I joined the PCA. If I recall correctly, you must submit a VIN # of your Porsche in order to be a member. Peachstate runs an outstanding opertation. They are my favorite HPDEs.

I did that when I joined PCA. No joke but somebody that's affiliated with PCA DE's (won't say so as not to incriminate them) told me to snag a Porsche VIN off ebay.

So all I need would be to use the VIN off my Porsche that was taken to a junk yard. I still have the title papers.

I asked Bobby about that one time, about a year ago - he said just about everything is for sale for the right price. There may be a For Sale sign out front, and if someone came along and paid what he wanted, sure, he would sell. But he is still open and doing business.

BTW, the PCA demands you have equal restraints in your car. No matter if its a racecar or whatever. So, if the Green M3 in your sig doesnt have matching/equivalent seats/harnesses they wont let you past tech. Just a heads up.

Actually Im mistaken. Youll be OK. Contact them to double check. I misinterperted what I was told until I read the rule book. I remember my instructor wasnt able to bring his full-race m3 with a seat setup like yours....it was because they had a instructor class on Friday that required equal restraints. Youll be in group 4 so I dont think it will matter. Sorry for the false alarm. well, hopefully false.

Student and Intermediate entrants’ cars must be equipped with a Passenger Seat with equal and adequate passenger restraints (i.e. Seat and Shoulder Belts) as the driver.
