Question for those in the know. Is this really what these engines go for? This is one of the ones I was considering a swap with.

I thought it would be a lot more than this???

That sounds like the going rate for a 2JZ.

Yeah thats pretty common. Those motors are dime a dozen in Japan. Like the Sr20 motors. I usually see them on ebay for like 1800-2000

Funny i been thinkin about buyin one of those motors for a swap.Since the 325 engines don't make as near as much power and the supra's engine aftermarket is way more.Over and bmw motor lol.And the power would be insane.

Gonna look around for some custom shops in orlando here and just get a estamaite on how much it would be to do it.I know its been done before. And this would be a nice conversion. And my own supra powered bmw :D.

The 2jz-gte automatics you can get them as low a $2200 complete but a 2jz-gte 6 speed no less than $5500 just for the fact that the 6 speed tranny is really hard to come by, 6 speed tranny's along sell for around $3k.

something cheaper will be a 1jz-gte 5 speed that you can get it as low as $2500

to my knowledge, you can buy a complete short block 2JZ engine from Toyota for $1200.

The other tranny that will work besides the 1jz 5 speed tranny is the one out of an old supra (7m motor) '86-92, that tranny will work but you will have to use a 2jz tranny bell hosing wich you could buy at the dealer for about $270.oo , the old supra tranny will hold up to 500rwhp. your other option will be a NON turbo Mk!V supra or Lexus IS300 5 speed tranny but that one is weak it will hold up to no more that 400rwhp.

Thanks! I will certainly spend the money to get the 6 speed. No way I could live with an auto!!

actually, you need a 1jz soarer bell housing, the 1jz tranny and mkIII tranny are the same, the bell housings are different, they are both r154 transmissions
