I have a 1997 328 convertible. There are several issues when lowering the top.
The top seems to work. The rear deck lid opens, but just not far enough. As the top starts to close or fold down into the section under the lid it contacts the edge of the lid. If you push up a small amount on the lid (will move 3 to 4 inches) the top will clear and enter it resting area. Can the little gas shocks be bad and not pushing the lid up all the way? or is there an adjustment to raise the lid higher?
Also the lid opens, the top goes through it's thing, folds where it should be, and the lid remains open and doesn't move. You have to start to close the top a little way and than reopen it and than the lid will close (micro switch?)
