On my 1986 528e the heater/AC fan got a mind of of it's own for a while and would blow by itself for a couple of seconds, now the fan will not work at all.I was wondering if someone could indicate what part may have failed for this to happen.

my guess is the switch in the car that turns it on. or maby the fuse. my best guesses.
