Ferris 03-12-2007, 10:57 PM I burn no oil.... A hard break in and fixing up an oil leak does wonders soundscribe 03-12-2007, 11:40 PM I changed my oil after 4K miles and 5 months. I was down 1/2 quart at that point. Gop-Dogg 03-13-2007, 12:25 AM Nope. I periodically check, but the level is always adequate. m302 03-13-2007, 12:35 AM do you guys have to regularly top off your cars with some oil after a few thousand miles after an oil change ? I do... it bothered me in the beginning, but I drive every day and it has 56,000 miles on it now. Like some of the other forum members said, check for leaks, fix whatever drips there may be, and keep it in the range on the dipstick.:) Ferris 03-13-2007, 12:43 AM Actually when I did my clutch job I found the most obscure leak. There is a pressure regulator in the pass side of the block, it looks like a flat head screw. Mine was leaking down the side of the block to under the trans, I thought the rear main was leaking. Anyway it turned out not be the rear main but the regulator, new regulator with o-ring and some sealant and the thing hasn't lost a drop of oil since. manm3 03-13-2007, 10:35 PM Check oil from time to time (2-3k) but it does not seem to be an issue as it was with e36. |
