Hey folks!

Alfa day was a total blast! Lots of cars showed up, including an F50 and a '04 Viper. I was the only E46 running (there were only 4 BMW's total running)... hopefully more would come on the 28th for the BMW day.

The day started off with a damp surface with lots of goose poop - can you say drift? But after the sun came out and dried the track it became a total blast. Victoracers passed the "test" exceptionally after they warmed up - key word After. . A bit tricky to fine tune the pressures, but after playing with them a bit the tyres worked fine. They actually were able to outgrip the brakes - ABS almost never kicked in. I often got plenty of it once street tyres got too hot after several laps - annoying as hell. Steady performance with progressive break away. But you gotta watch out for these limits, since the rubber is virtually silent and can get you in trouble if careless.

But now with so much extra grip I was wishing for extra power coming out of the corners. hehehe

Here are some pics.

There are a few more on my site under the Track section (page 2 of the Gallery)

Hope to see you folks on the 28th at the BMW day. The pre-registration form is already out. Check with the ACA for more info.

Looks like it was a great time! I wish that I could have made it. The first AROO day always sneaks up on me! Looks like you had great weather too!

Are all the pics on your website from last weekends AROO day? The Nagaro Blue S4 looks a lot like my friends. Here is a candy ass little web page I created for the last BMW day I attended:BMW Day (http://home.earthlink.net/~stone19/)

Glad you had fun, I may try to get out for the BMW Day at the end of the month depending on work...

Yeah, the weather turned out awesome, but made us nervous in the morning. :)

The first page pics are a compilation from last two years, but page two is all new.

I remember last year's May event - was one of the best. :D

If you can make it, look me up there!

HI

I am in Portland, I have a 2000 328IC and I want to get a supercharger for it. Any place in Portland area that will do that? Reccomendations? Thanks...http://www.bimmermods.com/images/gallery/pages/IMG_0315_JPG.htm

Hi! Nice looking car.

The only two good SC's that I know of are ESS and Dinan. You can install Dinan at Rassmussen, but I would get it dyno-tuned after.

Check with Matrix folks for that.

Man, that was a fun day! :D It was nice meeting you ttaM3! Sorry to hear about your fog light... I am still planning the May 3rd Mt. Hood run...

The weather turned out beautifully. Not too many cars showed up (at least for a BMW club day), so the traffic was light. Gobs of fun carving the corners.

Aside from an M5 losing it and touching the tyrewall, the day went smootly. Two strange incidents did take place though:

1. A car just decided to suddenly stop almost in front of me right at the entrance of the back straight (I was in full throttle).. an unpleasant moment. A yellow M cope was right behind close him and I bet felt even worse.

2. Some guy decided to take a bike ride along the track during a session. Weird...

Otherwise it turned out to be one of the greatest BMW-held track days in the past 3 years. I was pleasantly surpised.

Next PIR day will be a Lotus event on May 23rd immediately followed by another BMW DE on the 30th.

Akakubi,

I made it up to the track day but didn't run. Work had been so busy the last couple of weeks I didn't have time to pre register. I was kicking myself when I got there about 10:00. There was hardly anyone there!

I was going to come up and say hello but you were busy talking to some other guys and I didn't want to disturb you.

A friend and Iwalked down to the chicane to watch a session or two. You had a great battle going on with the black WRX. You really pulled away in 4,5, and 6. He seemed to have some power on the straight but not enough to get by. Do you have any idea what mods he was running? R comps? It was fun to watch. I am hoping to get up there one of thes days, just need to find the time!

Nice Job,

andy

Hi Andy!

Too bad I missed meeting you in person. :(

Yep, the day was unusually empty... I suspect folks may have been afraid of rain. But great for running - low traffic. :D

Hehehe, that WRX was fun. He had the whole suspension works done: H&R coilovers, sways, neg camber and toe adjusted, Wilwood brakes. Plus he ran a remapped ECU, intake and exhaust. S-03 rubber.

I was impressed! He could catch up on the straights to me fairly easily (I need another 70 hp and better brakes:D). My car hooked up really well in the 4,5,6 and right after the back straight. The nose is still pushing in the chicane on the exit... It was a fun battle!

Come over next time. We always have a "gang". :D I will be there on May 23rd with the Lotus folks - no traffic at all, the best club to run with by far. And then BMW day on May 30th.

If you make it, join us for sure!
