im getting around 14 mgp around town, normal or not normal?

Only reasons an E46 M3 gets 14mpg around town:

1) Driven pretty damn hard. More than "spirited".
2) It is brand new, still breaking in
3) Something is wrong with it and it needs maintenance / repairs.

i guess it should be right around 16 mpgs?

If you are driving an E36 M3, not an E46 m3... your mileage is WAYYYYYY too low and you need to get it checked out.

With 19" wheels and a bad o2 sensor I still managed 19.5-20.

i do about 19 average. which includes commuting, city, and 'spritied runs'.

Are you gearing up because if you are not that would be killing your gas mileage.

Ive Tried Just About Everything I Can Think Of. I Feather The Gas, Take Off From Stops Slow And Will Drive In The Highest Gear Possible While Monitoring The Mpg's But With All Of The Stop And Go Its Hard. I Forgot To Mention That Is Is Stop And Go. My 10 Min Commute From Work To Home Or Vise Versa Only Allows Me To Drive With Out Stopping For Maybe1/2 Mile At The Most. Could This Be The Key?

Could be but if you have an E36 then maybe it does need new oxygen sensors and a tune up if you will.

Ah Sh*t, I Forgot To Mention Its An E46, The E36 Was Wrecked Last Month

With "spirited" driving I get 16-17 and that's also with a lot of ssslllloooowww driving around town (25 mph max everywhere).

I get around 11-13 mpg in city driving, so what you are getting isn't too different from my experience. Lot of stop and go driving .... hills .... they all combine to produce sub-EPA city mpg results. My 5 mile city commute takes about 20 minutes so you can see that I am averaging 15 mph in city driving (confirmed by OBC).

My E46 drinks gas like no tomorrow compared to my E36 M3, or so it seems...maybe I just drive it harder?

I average around 20 combined city/highway and i drive pretty damn hard. 300 mile highway trip at 100+mph with ac on i got 23.

Take your car in...something is seriously wrong.

Check your tire pressure. 14 is too low, but could be a factor.

maybe if anyone gets a chance or if you can remember, reset your mpg's while at a dead stop and check it after your drive( unless you already know ) and please post. ive only had the car for 2 or 3 weeks now and would like to know if my car has a problem. i will check psi, hope its just that as it would be oh s easy and worry free, thanks guys!

I've done that several times in the 6 months I've had the car.

hwy -- 23-26
city -- 16

I can see if you drive REALLY hard, in a hilly area and never get out of 2nd gear, you might get 14 or below. Otherwise maybe something is wrong.

What do you get on the fwy at 65 with no speed changes in 6th gear? You should easily be in the 25 mpg range.

I can manage about 18 city, 24 highway.

If your in California 14 is about right with our highly oxiginated fuel blend, 14-15 is what a Cali M3 gets. Pay no attention to what Texas and New Jersey and Canada gets with their M3s their not running the crap low emissions low octane gas we have.

And Thats The Thing, My Fwy Mpg's Are Around 24 With Cruise On So That Seems Normal, Right? I Still Haven't Checked Tire Pressure But Looking At The Tires, They Look To Be Ok.
