im in the market of buying an 01-02 M3 and anyone know what i should look for... i currently have an e39 and its obvious that around 80k miles the cooling system starts to go along with so many other problems...

is it the same for the e46 M.... should i stay away from higher mileage ones or is 60k alright? also whats a price range i should look for, for an 01 or 02 M3 with 45-60k miles.... i saw a few but was shocked that they were going for $34k and not in the most perfect shape.... Im 19 and really want to get the best cuase im sick of maintnane on my 5er i rather put that money into a BMW thats worth it...

thanks alot guys

ill really take any color cuase they look good in every color they were made in and im so desperate for one that i dont even care if its SMG or convertible..
i rather have a good clean convertible with nor mechanical problems then a non convertible with 6MT that ill have to fix every months .... because thats the situation im in right now with my e39....
im also willing to travel a bit to get a nice one....

I just bought my 04 for 37k with 39k on the clock. car has original warranty up to 50k, and i purchased an additional 50k mile on top of that.
Best of luck

In the classifieds section there's a really nice 02 E46 for sale for $31

Please don't take this next coment the wrong way, but if I would have had an E46 M3 at your age, I wouldn't be typing this right now. I'm 32 and still have a hard time holding back the urge to drive my M3 like an idiot all the time.
